I saw a small and very cute looking CG vessel and It got me thinking that It would look great as part of SSE's coast guard fleet.....see below

erm? we have 2 the cutter and the protector

Coast guard ships is a very important fleet type.. I see when people request them they basicly think of submerging ships using missiles and machine guns.. But they have other roles too... What would we do without the coast guard?
They patrol our coast. Without them .. just think of what would happend... I therefore see there's a big role to add some few more coast guard ships...
And to add usefull missions with the ships so people may learn more.. who knows? someone might join the coast guard.?
Patrolling the coasts, keeping eye and point out suspecious vessels, check them for narcotics, immigrants and ships that overholds the fish Quota.
You can learn so much.. Just like the other vessels ;)

There is, in fact, a third & fourth CG vessel. Just small ones, but only as AI or static vessels. Of course there are the RIBs on board the "Protector" and the Cutter. So that makes six, not just one. The two AI vessels are "Immaculate" & "Pedota". See Pictures.
-
May I ask WHY they need to be AI vessels? (and also other vessels)
-
No harm in asking, but I cannot answer that question. There are a lot of AI & static vessels which I would think require a vast amount of work to make them into player ships, so that is, I should guess, the answer to the question.

The Pedota looks very much like the Royal Navy's Archer class patrol and training vessel

How about adding some RNLI vessels their pretty good at what they do
-
i have also a cg ship its the dutch "Arca" its a special ship for cleaning sea if there is oil in the water
-
Expanding it would be awesome u could have a bigger CG fleet I love the CG Cutter and Protecter. Adding anoth 2 or 3 would be awesome.
-
they shoud turn all ai's into player ships ;D

I've seen this type of answer to similar questions/requests. I'm guessing, then, that it's more complicated than making a 3D bridge for the model and giving it controls? Shipsim has set a high standard for graphics and these 3D bridges are very impressive so I'm wondering if the whole vessel has to be designed from inside-out? Also, another guess, when you switch to the rover view, are there certain parameters that have to be set so the camera doesn't walk through walls and can walk on stairs and ladders? I've noticed some areas on some ships are off limits to rovers. For instance, you can't climb the ladder to the tugboats radar platform. I guess that's so you don't fry your brains.
This game is a graphical marvel and that's why I put up with any bugs or deficiencies. I tried my hand at Gmax once. That's tedious work. I'm glad someone else has the patients for that type of stuff. I'll just be the consumer/end user. Any building I do will be with plastic kits and glue.

I'd love to see the coastgaurd fleet expanded, but maybe have some other countries coastgaurd BUT the usa's.
so something like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NoCGV_Harstad Or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nornen_class_patrol_vessel
and for the antarctic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NoCGV_Svalbard

The usa isn't the only country with a coast guard
the Island class patrol vessel looks pretty interesting

theres a good chance you've seen this vessel if you watch animal planet
it's the Steve Irwin

That ship isn't actually a coastgaurd, it's a SFPV (scottish fisheries protection vessel). Personally i prefer the sulisker type :

Were more likely to get a sulisker class ingame as oppossed to a island class, because the only island class in operation is in the hands of SSCS

actually danny, i don't even think vstep will consisder this.

I had a thread about this Coast Guard Ship but it got shuffled off to the small talk boards.

The video at the bottom of the page to the posted link shows the ship going through some extremes maneuvers and since the name of the game is "Extremes" I thought what could be more extreme than this Search and Rescue ship? I should have explained that in the origional post. I was probably distracted before I finished writing and clicked "post" too early.
