Im wondering why there is a Helicopter and a Plane sometimes besides the boats. ???
-
Just a nice little extra feature of the game. If I remember correctly you can join the plane as it flies around. :)
-
Cool, I thought they were for driving!

I think it's still called "Shipsimulator",and heli and planes are not that related to ships.

Your right, its kind of weird :-\.

Well in some way ships and aircrafts are inseparable. Pilot boarding, Search and Rescue, crew change on rigs etc. The Netherlands Coast Guard for example has 24 hrs a day an airplane patroling the Dutch coast and the Dutch sector of the Northsea to see if vessels don't violate the MARPOL or COLREGS. Besides that, they can also perform SAR missions.
Too bad it missed it's point in SS06 though, it has some great potential. :)

Hoy,
Yes, i know that helipiloting happens around the world, and in that view you are right, however than you can put also the loading of vessels in the game to.That needs to be done also, before a ship makes money.
It would be great to have it all,but i think fixing the most common problems is more inportent.

There's a Greenpeace mission where the heli is hoisting up the cargo out of your boat :P
There is also a Sigita mission which has the heli involved :)
-
hmm not seen them... :o

I've saw the helicopter on the Green Peace mission but I've never seen a helicopter yet on the Sigita missions
