Title: Red Jet 4 handling
Post by: Apejens on September 29, 2010, 13:33:57
The Red Jet 4 now seems to behave in a more realistic way, now it goes sideways too :2thumbs:
However, there are some minor issues.

The water jets respond far too slowly, as with many of the other ships' propeller pitch in the game.
Shifting the thrust on a water jet is almost instant; in the game it takes 'forever'.
Also, when you approach the dock and pull back on the controls, the boat loses speed too slowly.
I've worked on a 35 metres long HSC myself, and it lost it speed much faster; I'd say in half the time.

BTW:On other ships, the propeller pitch is much too slow, I'd say double up the speed and it'd be more realistic.
I currently master a 80 m car ferry and the pitch uses about 10 seconds from from full speed ahead to full speed astern.

Let's see what patch 1.2 will have according to your hints. ;)
