Title: A fix that worked for me...
Post by: shiner22 on August 29, 2010, 12:40:57
Obviously lots of people are having problems.
I also think that so many threads about it wont help people to find an answer.

Anyway I dont claim this is my fix as I found it posted on one of the threads.

This worked for me and I am using the Steam version.

E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ship simulator extremes\Tools
1.Install DirectX
2.Install PhysX
3.Install VisualStudio_Redist
4.Reboot your computer

So I followed the filepath to the Tools folder and then one at a time I installed DX, PX and the Visual thing from their location in that Tools folder.

I rebooted and the game ran first time.

Up until that point I had been suffering from the problem of the game never starting.

Anyway I hope this helps others too...

Also note that the files you need (DirectX, PhysX and MS Visual) are all already inside that Tools folder.

All I done was to double click the setup of each one.

Im so glad it worked for you.

Please note that I found the fix elsewhere so I dont claim credit.

I just wanted to get the fix into a place where more people may see it.

Enjoy the sea...!

I tried something similar for the steam version, uninstalled SSE, reinstalled the above programs then reinstalled SSE and it now works.

The only issue I have now is how to input my code, it gives it to me but doesn't ask me to input it at any stage, works fine just doesn't ask for the code!!
