Title: Game won't start!!

I have been playing SSE without Skies for a while now and re-installed it and it worked again but I'm not installing the update. And played it once and now it won't start. It has the loading screen thing and the next thing that comes up is the tiny screen before it goes to the actual game. And it doesn't go past that. I've sat here for almost ten mins waiting for it to go. Can anyone help me!? :( I'm desperate. This is so far my favorite game of all time.
