Some pictures from a recent visit to Liverpool with some fabulous vessels such as Crown Princess and Manannan, with a few others ;)
Enjoy

Ah so thats what it was! Only briefly saw it and thought "I'll get a pic of that!" And just managed to snap him!

How could you! She even has a new dress on to make sure you dont miss her
-
Got to Liverpool at 11:30, just in time to see the Manannan go :P
-
tut tut tut
Manannan go...backwards? ;)
-
Needed a tug the other day :-\
-
oh dear - sure all IOMSP cats breakdown, or go backwards
-
Yeah they can go backwards, they go forwards most of the time :P
-
Beautiful shots! Thanks for posting them. What kind of camera are you using? I don't live near a port, so I can't get any decent pictures of vessels here. On the odd trip to the St. Lawrence, I get to see some of the lakers doing their thing. Odd that I live landlocked and I was in the Navy

Thanks, Sony DSC-H7, it's my dads... after a new one though..
-
Thanks for the info....beautiful color in those...even the subtle tones.
I expect to see photos of that quality in a magazine. Either you're a budding photojournalist or that's a really great camera (or both)

Thanks very much for that comment! :) Some of the photos aren't as good like the ones of Clipper Pace and the Police boat, since they are at full zoom..

No Lagan Viking?
Hi laganviking, you will have to change your name. :P Lagan Viking is now called Lagan Seaways. The whole fleet working out of Liverpool (Birkenhead that is) are all in process of being repainted and renamed at Cammel Lairds shipyard in Birkenhead. Liverpool Viking is now Liverpool Seaways, Dublin Viking is Dublin Seaways, etc.etc. The funnel is now all dark blue with the Maersk badge in a white circle. ??? I don't know what is going on, whether it is just a revamp or the Company itself is now defunct as such.
As Jack has said below it is a DFDS badge on the funnel not Maersk.

Hi Angus,
DFDS Seaways bought Norfolkline...but I think they've actually disolved the Norfolkline 'brand' too. It's just DFDS now as far as I know. Though I could be wrong.
Jack.
p.s. great pic of the pilot Olli! ;D
-
Jack, thanks for that. I should have caught on to the fact that the funnel was DFDS. Many years ago as a last holiday as a family we sailed to Gothenburg on one of their ships. I'm getting too old to put 2 & 2 together to make 4. It usually ends up as 3 or 5. :o The advert at the entrance to 12 Quays terminal still says "Norfolk Line", I passed by there this afternoon.

Funny i saw all those ships at the same time.
Great Day out Tractorman :)

I'll second that one....that one belongs on the cover of a magazine!
