nothing has arrived at my doormat till now. I ordered the boxed version on the first possible day, and, for crying out loud, I live almost next-door to VSTEP's headquarters.
If you're not sure of the delivering date, DON'T send emails like that one, VSTEP :thumbdown:

But you never know, it does say "probably" and it also says it was sent earlier this week, well then say Monday.
That was only 4 days ago, it says it usually arrives within 5-10 days :thumbs:

That e-mail gives the impression of the being sent by private couier with a next day delivery and not the postal service. So they have left themselfs open to abit of flak sending that from the people who are still waiting for it. And I also ordered mine on the 9th. But as long as it comes tomorrow I don't mind as I would of had to wait for steam anyway. If it does not come tomorrow then it's going to be tuesday and that would be annoying as it would of been quicker to go to the local game shop.

Half my town is flooded and the fire department is still pumping it away everywhere.
I can imagine this weather has thrown off postal deliveries somewhat aswell.

Besides, there are obviously lots of people, who have received the boxed game, but it won't run (just try to read the German forum - some Kids there are veeeery upset and behave like a bunch of idiots, threatening VStep etc. The moderator Sturmfahrt had lots to do trying to calm them down ...)
I think the only way to manage this is to keep cool and to wait till tomorrow, or maybe Monday. We have been waiting such a long time - so some single days won't matter at all.

on the first time when u buyed or downloaded u have to create a address,then it will be saved,and every time u are ordering,it ask´s u on wich address should it go u can see there ur name,but i make so as i was ordering and where i was selecting the address there was only my name,then accidently remove it,then i create it again and then i saw my name and my address,it can be that i make a mistake and the shipsim extremes goes to a wrong address... ???

Second disappointment: No single missions, except those from the Bonus-Vessel. Although the pdf. manual shows numerous single missions.
Third disappointment: No Radio-Sound, although the pdf. manual shows a slider for the radio-volume, in-game there is none present.

I feel sorry for Vstep it seems the distributor is making a right mess of things which is getting Vstep and this game a right bashing. The game is getting one star on amazon because of paradox mistakes, plus some people have not set up thier computers to run it and now it seems the pubisher forgets to put the booklet in the case. But Vstep are the ones getting blamed for this by all the angry kids when it is paradox that has made a mess of things. I hope Vstep can get reasurance from paradox that this will never happen again or look for another company to do the release of the next game.

Oh dear, this is beginning to look like a PR disaster for Vstep, as they are getting the blame, even though it's Paradox's fault for making a big cock-up of things.
And have you seen the "recent topics" updates? Lots of postings from the German forum about bugs and Steam installer failures.

Nobody has specifically said its VSteps fault. What are we supposed to do? Go shouting on Paradox forums? Do they even have any? Would it be relevant? NO!!!
Quite frankly we don't CARE who made all the mistakes over the last 24 hours. As it has been said time and again.. it is up to VStep, Paradox and Steam to get their heads together and resolve this. To suggest VStep should be able to pass the buck on any of these mess ups is ridiculous. I would hope VStep would like to come to the aid of their customers no matter who was to blame.
I'm quite angry at the moment because my game actually appears to be trying to work but crashes on the loading screen. I cannot get support because the Technical Support forums are restricted by a CD Key. Therefore I AM blaming VStep for not finding a short term solution for all of us without access to have free access until the CD Key deparkle is rectified. Its VSteps fault my game doesn't work properly - Its VSteps fault they are blocking access to Technical Support. It would seem I would have a had a far smoother ride downloading the pirate version. Seems being a loyal paying customer doesn't work these days. Had the same crap with Silent Hunter 5.
I am a 39 year old pissed off customer. Not a kid thank you very much.

From my memory if you go to your Forum Profile and enter in your SSE license key, you should then be able to access the technical support forum.

what a messy story this all became. As I read in the past 24 hours, since i still did not get the game, teasers for weeks and months showing something we want receive, bad frame rates on high end machines, missing manuals, not delivered in time, despite the announcement the CD will arrive on the same day as the release, not set up license keys due to third party distributors and the best thing, after many are still waiting for what they have paid weeks ago, you can download it with key at pirate bay hahahhaha, well at least they got a copy. :evil:
I guess Frank and the team will need a big brake and discuss whether they live with it like it is or at least rely on partners (distributors) that know what they are doing. Its all similar to some Folks from the Sim flight community, collecting money for nothing.
I am really pissed and i am over 50 so no kid, but this is a big bull....!
Just my two cents, sleep well VSTEP then no matter what others say or thing the developer´s will all ways be responsible for their distributors.

Ah right I didn't realise you'd bought the game from Steam, as it was not clear in your previous post whether you got the boxed or download version.
I'm still waiting for my boxed version in the post, and I'm worried about people saying that the booklet was missing, cos that will contain the licence key.

I had pre ordered from Vstep on the 9th August as did many of you. I've still had no delivery either. As I have no knowledge from where or whom my SSE is coming from my first "port of call" as it were, is Vstep as they are my point and contract of sale. I have no interest what so ever how their distributors are failing in their duties, it is up to Vstep to sort out.
So with the past twenty four hours pacing back and forth waiting in anticipation for a game that never arrives and with the prospect of it not arriving until the middle of next week, one has had to ask, Do I care anymore? Sure it would have been nice to receive my game on the day of release, after all that's what most pre orders are supposed to do. It's surely better that it isn't sat here in view, toying with me, risking being the victim of a blow from a hammer, a game that so many of you have received yet are still unable to play. Disheartened, I'm now hoping that with the delay in delivery, it will at least allow a few extra days for the sorting out all the current problems.
So for those of you that have been in receipt of your long awaited shipping experience I bid you happy sailing. For those of us who are still waiting, I suggest we start bailing out now, I think our ship is sinking. :-\

Its funny how I ordered Grand Theft Auto 4 on play.com before its release date and It came in the post on the day of release and that game sold millions that day. Why is it not working for Ship Sim?
And another thing I went to the games shop today and It was not thare at all! If it releases on the 27th it should be in the shops that day!

Like many others I have not had my copy of SSE yet, so that means that if it's coming then it will be Tuesday (31st) at the earliest before there is a satisfying thump on the doormat!! If you haven't done so already then I suggest an e-mail direct to VSTEP may focus their minds. As others have also stated, VSTEP are the 'owners' of the game, even though they have outsourced actual manufacture/delivery to others - the bottom line is that they are responsible for making sure that 'their' conditions are met and that includes delivery times.
The only benefit, if you can call it that, is that when my copy of SSE does arrive, the mad rush to log-on etc will have passed and the VSTEP servers will be able to cope!!
Another interesting thing I've noticed on this thread is that apart from Mad Fred, our administrator, the Moderators are keeping a very low profile - which is highly unusual!!

I downloaded straight from vstep, and while I am not so happy with the lack of content - missions etc, The game doesn't seem to be running too badly, though I did have one isolated issue where the frame rate slowed down for some reason, and I run a machine more than capable of running this game, so if you question your pc's capability, it could be bad news :(, though I must say I AM confused at why vstep chooses to release games that are not 100% complete and have so many bugs and issues that they need to release patches. Can't they hold off on release and properly test the game and wait until everything intended to be in the game is in it? Call me crazy.... but that just sounds like a better way of doing things, and missing booklets without serial numbers? Come on, that just ain't right. This is Vstep's game, they are responsible for it. I work at Home Depot (A US hardware distributor for those of you outside of the US ;)) We in many cases use third party companies for tasks, but at the end of the day if something goes wrong on our watch, it is our fault, and we take care of buisness. Vstep should do the same.
And in all fairness, the customers have the right to rant in this case. All's I know is my email was spammed with advertisements for this game, that made it sound so legendarily better from it's 08 counterpart, that I was sold. The pictures looked awesome! But the pictures were also very deceiving. How come the advertisements didn't also say "Oh yeah, a lot of the things you see in these pictures either aren't actually in the game, or won't actually be released for a few months after in a download-able patch," because vstep knows that if it HAD stated such a thing, No one would have bought the game outright. I am sorry, but I am feeling a little scammed at the moment, however if everything is put right soon, I will be happy. SO all hope is not lost vstep, you can regain the trust and faith in your customers, you just need to earn it by cleaning up this mess.

I think it's because tomorrow (Monday) is a public holiday in the UK, therefore no mail deliveries.

What with the problems many folks are having regarding Steam, activation codes not working etc, maybe it's just as well we are waiting while the issues are being ironed out.

I will admit I find this whole scenario very strange. If the majority of us did indeed order our games via a pre-order whether direct from vstep, Play, amazon etc and lots of us have been Emailed stating that the game was posted "earlier in the week" and those that ordered before a certain date will get their games by that afternoon. Well that makes that nearly a week ago. Is there some sort of Global mail strike that I haven't heard about?, did a container ship carrying all except a few thousand copies that have since been successfully delivered sink to the bottom of the seas we are supposed to be vitually sailing on? again, not that I've heard about.
So it begs the question where are all these copies of SSE? I don't believe for one minute they are sat in postal sorting offices, our postal service really isn't that bad. it's starting to seem more likely there were production problems and not enough were made in time, or it was Vstep holding back as long as possible to try and iron out as many of bugs as they could. Either way we should have had our delivery on the release date as is the point of a "pre-Order". I have thousands of DVD's in my collection and not one of them has taken any longer than a 3 -5 days to arrive and all have arrived on date of release if it has been a pre-order.
Maybe someone just needs to own up and admit "You didn't post them as it wasn't ready". Don't string us along with false hopes of a delivery, we are not idiots and we are definitely worth more than that.

Your right hope they get it fixed by then. I pre ordered mine 4 days before the release date I checked on Friday and Amazon said it has been sent out. I live way far north west of Scotland on a island so it wouldn't arrive on Saturday and not Sunday cause theres no post on a Sunday and now not Monday due to a public holiday. So maybe all the delays are good so they can fix them 8)

Same here just checked my calender and it said bank holiday for England and Wales only but not for Scotland. Postman for me comes around 1pm to 2pm.

Would I be correct in assuming the booklet contains the licence key in order to validate your copy of SSE?
If that is the case, then I'm afraid Matthew can't play SSE if his booklet is missing from the case.

It's a wonderful, fabulous thing where you don't get stressed out by waits. =D If you have little to no 'patience' I recommend you distract yourself with something time-consuming to take you mind off it. In fact, I recommend this for everyone. =D As a personal example, I make ships out of Lego on Lego Digital Designer. Some of the bigger, more complex ones can take 3+ hours to do. =D

I, literally, just got the game. It's sitting in my lap as I type. =3 It's the non-paradox version, so no steam issues! =D I just have to worry about the bugs and my graphics card. =P
It didn't come with a manual, but thank god for the sticker on the back. xD

Or who ever sent it out could of allowed enough time for it to go the postal system for it to get to you ontime other companys can do it. And those that ordered it from Vstep paid about £10 more than those that got it from amazon. But most of the amazon customers have the game whereas alot of us who ordered from Vstep are still waiting. I'm going to give it until tomorrow if it is not here tomorrow then when it does come it's being sent back for a refund.

Well post has been and yet again no game >:( I preordered on the 9th and therefore expect the game to of come in August not September. This is just not good enough I have never had a game i've preordered before come in a differant month. Every other game has come on time so why not ship sim?
I know some will try and blame the post office but if people the other side of the world can get the game faster than some of us in Europe then there is somthing wrong and at the end of the day postal delays or the company sending the item out too late to get though the postal system in time for release day is not the customers problem the customer expects it to come when promised give or take a day. Well I don't care when the game comes now it is being sent back for a refund. Those of us who ordered from Vstep paid top money but we are getting bargin bin service.
I hope they are faster given refunds than sending out the game :(

I just got the game and it installed fine and registered my code onto steam, steam itself said its activated but when I want to run it a box appears saying 'Fail to connect to key server.' I'm wondering what that might mean?

I can understand your frustration about not having the game delivered. I can assure you that if you contact VSTEP about this issue they will respond as soon as possible to help solve the issue.
It may also be related to a postal service issue, as some post does get stuck at a particular location.

I've just sent a e-mail to them asking where my game is and asking for a refund if it has not yet been shipped. I would not mind the 5-10 day wait if I ordered today but the 9th is abit over 10 days. And people on the other side of the world can get it faster than me also a person who lives on a island that is a 7hour boat trip from the mainland can get it faster than me. It would not be so bad if they gave us a link to a ship and a mission or two so at least we could have a little play with the game while we are still waiting.

main postoffice is o n e minute away!
Airport of Frankfurt/Main is about 20 Minutes away!

I haven't had mine either (UK) so it is obviously a general shipping problem. Pity about the email which said I should have it last Friday afternoon - if I hadn't had that I wouldn't be worrying.

Is a fishing boat really worth paying £10 more than amazon for ? Some of us did this to get the fishing boat, To support Vstep and to get the game on release day. Vstep have been let down big time by steam, Paradox & TNT but that is not the customers problem we paid our money on time therefore we would expect our on time. This game launch has been a failure big time but with luck leassons have been learnt so they will not happen again. And at least Vstep are already working on patches not many companys are that quick.

I received a reply to my second e-mail to VSTEP which explained that the problem was at a TNT dist centre and if no game tomorrow (1st) then to let them know. Hopefully the game WILL turn up tomorrow!!! Live in hope!!

The first link I'm assuring to a Dutch member that VSTEP will refund his purchase from the pre-ordered boxed version, because he bought another download version due to the delay and to make his son happy.

i mean if i gave you the download link but not the key, because that would be against the rules/law. then you will have it downloading by the time you get you key from VSTEP, it just saves you a bit of time. i won't send it until a mod or admin gives the go ahead, by which time you might have your download link and key, because i tink all downloads are the same, it's just the key's which are differnt.

I guess the first e-mail did not get though to them they have just replyed to the second one. So now at last I can download the game so thank you to all at Vstep. I understand alot of the problems have not been down to Vstep and I hope all the other companys that have taken part in the launch of this game take note of Vsteps customer service. They did not have to give us still waiting a download link but they did. Now i'm going to have alittle sail about. And due to this kind offer from Vstep I will not be asking for a refund. You get it by E-mail fam-morf2 you may need to send a second email just in case the first did not get though.

purchased on ShipSim.com on 9th August (pre-release date), still not arrived. Chased ShipSim via their 'email' contact 3 times so far - no reply. If no reply / delivery in another day will get my credit card company involved as money has been taken!!

I think I may have made a massive faux pas. :doh:
I was about to email Vstep to ask for a download as my SSE still hasn't arrived, and when I went back to the Ship Sim website to retrieve my order number etc, I noticed that my hometown was missing from my address details. Strange how I didn't notice that before.
AAArgh! So no wonder why my boxed SSE still hasn't arrived as the TNT guy probably had no clue where to send it (although if he Googled my postcode, he would find out my home town very easily, plus it does have 'United Kingdom' on the address). But knowing TNT, where time is money, they'll probably send the parcel back to Vstep again marked as "Address Not Known" :doh:
So it's a public apology from me to Vstep (*red face*)

I hope so, it's quite easy to find out which town you live in just by typing in your postcode on Google. I just hope the TNT or the Royal Mail delivery guy had the same brilliant idea.....

I should be OK because I have the full address - house number, street name, postcode - apart from the name of the town where I live.
It's times like that which makes me glad I do not work as a delivery guy for a living! ;)

Im not sure what way your postcodes work over there, but over here in the 1700's postcodes can identify your town easily. :thumbs:

well, I checked my shipping address, and it's fine. checked all information, and all is complete. delivery day of 8/27 has come and passed. sitting at 8/27 + 5 days now. I've mailed VSTEP, and no response yet except the auto-generated one telling me that they got it. This is the first time I've ordered anything directly from them. Thinking maybe either there won't be a next time, or next time I'll have to order it through a third party that I trust. :-\ :C

Would you believe it, my game finally arrived today! :2thumbs: (but no manual booklet though, which is not a big problem since the manual is already on DVD)
And I am very, very happy with the result - the installation went really smoothly and the game runs like a dream. I ran fps while in free roam and it was 25-35 which is much better than what I thought it would be.
Maybe I am very pleasantly happy because my high exceptations have been set lower after reading so much issues.
I am now going to download patch v1.1

i'm having to console myself with a few scale models, alas my blue carpet lacks the sea effects we've seen in the trailers "ice-berg-sock ahead!"

patch v1.1 works fine, and also installed the bonus Fishing Vessel SIGITA. I think she was worth paying extra!
Also ran her in free roam, fps was 38-39! :o :)

Trust me, it will be worth the while.
In fact I think it has benefited me because I didn't have the stress like a lot of people did with their SSE problems (Steam, bug reports etc) last week. And patch v1.1 was already ready for me :thumbs:

I will try the download on Monday. I can't now because V-step won't respond on weekends. And in Europe Monday is not a holiday! In the U.S Monday is Labor Day, and that means not mail so there is zero chance of me geting my boxed version :'( But if that doesn't work... :'(

You dont need to Pay 50$ more to download it.
If you whanna download it to have it now without paying look:
Open in a Window your SS Page Profile(not forum),go then to "Orders&Downloads",then open a new window.
On the new window go to the SS Page to "Contact us".
Then tale them that you didnt recieved your Ship Simulator Extremes copy and if ask them if you could have a Download link.
Then write the codes like that: "Reference:(you reference) ID:(your ID) Purchase date:(your purchase date) and all that can you copy from the other window,but dont forget that: Name:(Your full name) E-mail:(your e-mail)
and you will reciede a e-mail in 1-3 days,(but recieved that e-mail on 5 minutes :doh:,maybe to you too,if not in 5 minutes maybe today :)
download takes 30-34 minutes ;)
DONT FORGET: you will recieve a e-mail and on the e-mail it gives the license key and the download link,and if the link is not clickable,then copy it and cut it on the linksearcher

It took me about 20 hours to download the hole game (Pre-order bonus, update, mm.) and 1 h to install and remove all ".dll"-errors....

You shall now see ALL your license keys (if you not have a boxed version, the licence key will be in the box, somewhere).

If not, you should write to Mad_Fred or V-STEP though http://www.shipsim.com/support/contact (http://www.shipsim.com/support/contact) and say that you want to have a download-link to the game.
Frank have say that V-STEP give costumers that pre-ordered the boxed version, but still waiting, will get a download-link and licence key...

Does surprise me to some extent to hear of many from Europe who have to endure a wait to receive their boxed versions.
I was fairly happy considering I had placed an order on 5th Sept and it was delivered to my address in India on 13th Sept......just a week from Holland to India .....rather than the minimum 15 days I had anticipated !

oh yippee. I ordered the game on 8/21 and it arrives on 9/25. now I get to attempt to catch up on what everyone else has been playing for a month. wish I'd known it would take a full month to arrive. tried to figure out when it was actually shipped, but apparently the website for the shipping company VSTEP uses (abcmail) isn't in English, nor does their parent company's website allow tracking. I'll have to think long and hard about whether I want to buy another game from these people. They don't respond to many messages, and take forever to ship a simple game.

thanks, salty. I'm getting ready to install from the dvd, so I'll run that immediately after. just very upset that I had to wait so long with no communicated information from VSTEP. I can't even find out when it was shipped. there's no postmark, but the website has said that the order was completed as of the day I ordered it. I find it very difficult to believe that this took over a month to get here.

A few cases, out of a very big number of games sold is not most. Total rubbish. :P
If you order a physical product, there´s dozens of pairs of hands on them from door to door. You can´t control all of them.
Who is to say someone does´t steal a dvd or game here and there, at these many stopping points? I have heard of it before.. postal services where things go 'missing'. But there is no more risk of that with Vstep than with any company that sends their products to their customers. I'm not saying there's thieves in postal services everywhere.. just.. an extreme example. but it does happen.
p.s. Shadowr434, did I not speak to you about it? I think I did. And you were offered a download version were you not? You did get the message, right? If your game has gone missing somewhere, they need to send a new one, and that takes time. In the mean time you can play the download version. If you didnt get the message.. drop me a line!

We saw the worst example of this some time ago here in Norway with the launch on iPhone. So many of them "vanished" through the national postal service that the various providers either shoved the retail boxes into larger incognito boxes or switched entierly over to alternative delivery services. Of course, it was still the provider that got the flames from the customers for the phones that never arrived.
