I hope the waves are at least 14 meters
-
41 Meters!!!! Wow whata imagination! thats 41x3= 123 Feet Wow thats way to high
-
or how about 12x3= 36ft
-
I think the wave limit in Pro is 14m, so I imagine it will be similiar in SSE, not sure though :-\
-
oh

That sounds better look at the waves when the coast guard Cutter is cutting through the water

the waves system wont be like 14 m every wave
it will be like 6m than 9m and than 5m you know
not every wave is the same hight... that makes it
more realistic
-
well yeah every interveiw with frank dolman in it he says somthing about it

Well in port theres got to be a wave limit like .4 meters
-
in real life waves anrt limited some times waves can be going over the sides of the harbour

Well Duh in real life waves arnt limited
-
then why do you want a limit
-
then why do you want a limit
Im not the one putting the limit in the game  Vstep puts a limit for a reason that reason i dont know
-
well I know your not putting the limit on the game but why do you think they should
-
well I know your not putting the limit on the game but why do you think they should
Because a limit of too high is to High i mean what Person that loves the game for serious reasons gonna use 140 waves
-
i would
-
As far as I know, huge waves would mean that the dynamics of the ships in game would be completely mucked up. Hence why SS08 has a 4m limit.

There you go your boat would go strait up the waves and i dont like high waves unless your on your way down to the antarctic and your going through the Roaring 40's and Terible 50's and Screamin 60's
-
Jk i wouldent makit that high In the ports ill probly have it be 3meters

9 feet?
-
yeah and I made a Greenpeace virtual account
-
Sounds Great, Yha 9 feet is pretty high in port right?
-
yeah
-
i think 3 feet should be the hight 1m
-
yeah
-
In harbours a limit to 2-3 feet is definitely enough. I have never seen waves higher than approx. 1 meter/3feet behind wave breakers.
But I have noticed, that in a tutorial video about ShipSim Pro (on YouTube) the waves can be set to be high outside the mole, and are low inside the mole, which looks very realistic. You can sail from a stormy sea into the shelter of a harbour in the same environment! Great! I hope we will find such features in SSEx, too.
In SS08 e.g. in Marseilles, the waves are limited in the entire environment.
-
I think that will be the case.
Sheltered and Open wave systems in harbour environments.

SOunamies are bigge than 1 meter their at least Ten meters

... so you want a tsunami-game? I don't! And we are not talking about Tsunamis here.
You can get tsunami-like waves and other crazy things in VS (a game that has its advantages, too).
But I stated that I have never seen waves higher than 1 meters/3 feet in harbours behind wave breakers. And I have seen a lot of harbours, and in stormy conditions, too. And I suppose you haven't either.

Oh Ive been to alot and FYI Ive been to every state in the USA Instead of hawiii and alaska and every province in canada, some of them had huge waves comin over the sides sometimes and the had wave breakers to

... !

I think one of the missions in SSE is to rescue the inhabitants of an island from an impending tsunami, so who knows?
-
... !
sayin the places Ive been to
-
MVEsperanza is Right :) in real life you dont really know what to expect
-
I must say I rather disapprove of the idea of 7m+ seas. I mean, I don't want my passengers to toss their lunch, or my cargo to come loose. Think of the mess! Heck, the latter could capsize my ship~! O_o
However, I must say that I'm looking forward to the more realistic waves. =D Those bumps were getting quite annoying.
-
I personally cannot see why this is something that a lot of people seem to ask...Does it really matter?! ??? :sleepy:
-
i know. dont try to make it more awesome than it allready is.. cause its already awesome :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
-
Well lets just say it looks awesome for now :2thumbs:
-
The problem with making bigger waves is that people will try to sail something small and not seaworthy in them, no matter what height. Whilst Vermaas can put up with 20-30 foot waves, Red Eagle will not. But that won't stop people from trying.
-

However, it could be a challenge to sail around those storm area's where the waves are that high, and at the same time arrive punctual at your port of call.
-
The main issue in SS08 was that when you hit a wave, the water never splashed around your ship instead it just creates a small splash. The waved should be 5m
-
really ???

Well it don't have to be that big unless you're dealing with rough seas. I don't even know how they (V-step or creators) could create a splash or wave that big. Remember that when they create ships in super packs it is only limited to their characteristics especially on water but i might not know if you could make changes or adjust ship wakes or splash.
-
really?
How did you do that? what setting did you use?

If you run into a wave at the wrong time, or get thrown around a bit, you'll have the odd big splash now and then :)

um since the sim is gonna be more realistic maybe the cruizers will have the stablelizers like what newer cruise ships have right, that makes it so the ship dont rocke much, its a fin on both sides of the ship ;)
-

I used the maximal settings in the Video Option. That screenshot was made during free roam. The weather settings where 4 m waves, windforce 8 Bft.
Then it's just a mater of turning your bow right into the wind and let the sea do the rest. It's just waiting for the right moment and then hit the 'Take a picture' button.

Why do you think the Ocean Star hasn't capsized randomly yet?
They're invisible in SS like trim tabs.
-
;)Good job good job you get :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
-
There should be a rode wave button.
-
if it comes by on command, it's not all that rogue ^^ And it probably wouldnt add much to the simulation perspective... it WOULD be amusing though!

You have a point.

I got hit with a huge wave in Kansas. The ship landed on its beam ends, and there was a dead witch under it.
