I was quite surprised actually,ALL the lifeboats on the ocean star were missing except a RIB on the front.
So I suppose that means that they are all able to launch! I thought only a few maybe but all of them! GREAT!

The Ocean Star looks great, the pool is very nice on it, also the deck flor is changed a litle bit, looks great!!

Orient Star is not a cruise ship I am afraid Captain Mitch - sorry, she is a whale vessel or rusty Agile Solution (we have not yet decided)
But Ocean Star is not called Ocean Star in SSE...

It dosen't meter, i'l need to be setisfied with Ocean Star again, until maybe gets something out in Add-On or in "The Shipyard", al these new things will keep me busy, and it will rise my patient to wait for some more cruise ships and yachts... :thumbs: :2thumbs:

But in any screenshot, all the lifeboats are missing?? Where are they???
I think while the cruise ship is sailing the lifeboats should be on it???

LOL! I've only just noticed that, on the new video go to minute 1:30 with the fisshing vessel and the Agile solution.
Look at the Agile and look at her deck, you can see a person walking to the bow!!

I wonder if there will be any sounds for the Antartic, because imagine sailing ino intercept the whaling fleet and the only sound is the waves :doh: All I'm saying is woudnt it be cool, like when you approach a whaling vessel it starts honking its horn and over the announcement system you hear "Warning, this is the Nisshin Maru Captain, keep away from our vessel" ::) ::) ::) Oh what fun, but I suppose that might only be imagination lol.
If that is the case then I've got a set of sounds including really clear announcemnets from the Japanese captain from real life! I can just play that in the background! (As long as Questviewer doesn't crash! :doh:)

YES! Exactly like that! And that lovely engine sound of the Nisshin Maru chugging along. (Just the engine I like :doh:) Can you imagine something like that in the game! with announcements like that from the captain.
Certainly brings a bit of excitement! Can't imagine it would be too hard to put in the game though? Im not sure.

About the Ocean Star's missing lifeboats, the ability to launch lifeboats from certain ships has already been announced. I hope they make Titanic's lifeboats pilotable as well !:)
Probably not, as the ships with the launchable lifeboats (I'd bet Ocean Star, Vermaas, and Agile Solution, based on lifeboat shapes in SS08) all have the same shape of lifeboats, and if you look, the lifeboats on OS which do not posess this identical shape are still on the ship.
I can dream, though :P

It's already been explained....E3 was held at Los Angeles, in the US. So Frank mentioned the US release date (27/08/10). It's still 24/08/10 for the EU..

Because in hese interwiew Frank told "we also have turist sailing campaingnes where you sails an hugh Ocean liner". He didn't told Orient liner, Ocean liner. That means Ocean Star i think.
So what vessel is Orient Star???

We assume that Ocean Star changed name to Orient Star.
An ocean liner is a ship that makes regular crossings between two places, E.g. Southampton - New York. An ocean liner is also built differently with a stronger, more streamlined hull with a faster speed. This enables it to carry on through weather that other ships would have to reduce speed in.
Frank referred to Orient Star as an ocean liner, but I think most will agree it is a cruise ship, not an ocean liner. :)

Ocean Star ( Orient Star ) it IS a cruise ship.
It's taken from model of Carnival Spirit, and that is a cruise ship, it's not an ocean liner...
I know what is a ocean liner ( like Queen Marry 2 ), but it was strange to me because of that...
Anyway, it looks nice... so i will not complain on it :thumbs:.
Also, changing the name is a bad luck... :o ::)

IT ISN'T AN ILLUSION!! IT DEFINITLY ISN'T!!
I saw a man walking on the Agile Solution.
Maybe these will help you to see it!
Watch the yellow, red and green markers!!

You can see that on all pictures, markers are on the other position, also the Agile Solution vessel is on the second position, you can see that there is something what isn't in color as ship is.
So now when you know where he is, just let your eye catching the details, and you will notice that.
It really is, he is actualy running, and if you look better you'l notice that something is moving on the ship, and that's the men running.
HE IS THERE, IT'S NOT AN ILLUSION!!
So go there, and watch it slowly again, put the slow motion, stop the video and other, you'l see it.

I was thinking that you were just getting hyped up but now that I look at it I can actually see a man running on he ship.
I'm not usually fooled by silly things but I can honestly say that whether it will be a new features or not that there is a man running on the Port side of Agile Solution. :)

Well, from my perspective it realy looks like a running man, because it doesn't fit in the ship colors, whatever that is.

As said before, it's not a delay at all.
The 24th is the European release date, the 27th is the US release date.
And since E3 is taking place in the USA, it is logical that the US release date was mentioned in the video, not the European.
Hope that clears it up.

The man is your player's character that others can see so they know where you are on your ship. It is the same as the Walk about mode in SS08. They add them to make a ship look populated instead of an empty ship.

Well, i always trust anyone! Even when somebody was saying about the huge legend called "Grand Star", a huge cruise ship wich is added in the game. I bellive that, and i was searching if i can found it somwhere, but it looks nothing about that. :'( :) I was really hoping that's true.

It's 38.75 meters long ( 127.1 ft ). It has 6 cabins, engine MTU 12V – 4000 – M90 diesel engines give her up to 28 knots, it has 5 crew members, cruise speed is 15 knots, beam 7.54m (24.8 ), designed by Frank Mulder.Very impresive design i must say!

This is very amazing. Ship Simulator Extremes has very detailed graphics. The water is beautiful. When the Green Peace vessel is shown on the Antarctic ocean in a calm sea and under clear skies, it's possible to see waves created by the bow that other smaller ships can feel effects of. Vstep has spent much dedicated time on this game, and are still continuing. They should be greatly praised for their work on the whole series, and now of course on Ship Simulator Extremes. Hope to see more updates from Vstep, and a complete list if the great vessels.

The water's very realistic, but I don't think the ship motion is as realistic. :-\

LOL, realy i think they look alot better, look when the sigita is turning near the Agile she roles more, the Esperanza hitting those swells making her rock, Now the Cutter I agree with The Ship Looks like its cutting through thos waves like no problem

Will SSE support more than one core? It has to, hasn't it as SSE is a game that'll be released in 2010? I think every game made after 2009 supports atleast two cores, and another simulation game released 2004, FSX supports 256 cores. So I really hope SSE will support many cores, if not, it'd be pretty oldish and not effective in nowadays computertechnology. I hope SSE will run better on a thuban that I might get than on a old x2 processor.
How many cores do you think SSE will support? Somebody knows?

Well the ss 08 support core cpu from the 1.4. patch so i think the SSE will do so to, i have a quad core and the ss 08 use them all.

I agree. I have the sence that the ship motion is unrealistic. In SS 2008 the motion is more believable.

The RHIB is called Inferno in
SS Pro NAUTIS. I think you are right about it being the cutter, though.

Protector is a US coastguard vessel called "Cod". See picture from Nautis showing her warning another vessel that she is standing into danger.

What's in a name? A cutter cuts through the waves.... That's where she's designed for, right?

She doesn't behave realistically. It may cut through the waves, but I doubt it bounces without any lengthways pitch.

I also found the movements of the cutter unnatural... like the length of the ship follows a certain "point" in the bow as far as altitude goes. ???

Great video and yes, I saw what looked like a figure moving on deck.
I also noticed something else. Just after the 'flyby' we are shown the bow and wooden planked deck of one of the vessels. It's raining and the deck is shiny as in WET! Rain no longer seems to 'end' at the view point horizon like it does in SS08.
Neither does snow apparently earlier in the clip.
Anybody agree?
