I want make a Reskin buth i dont know how.
please help me.

First of all, do you have adobe photoshop? if not, not to worry just say. There's another way.

I think (looked at his signature) he has, and I gues (I`m not sure I want to learn it to ;D But PhotoShop works realy good for designing) that PhotoShop is the easy`st progrma to do it in, so he also could download a 30 day trail.

The only boat you can reskin is the patrol boat in SS2006. You can find it here: (assuming you did a default install)
C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim\Actors\act_dynamic_objectsThe paintshop file is named: Act_P6_Port_authorities_Custom.psd
After you paint this file, you must convert it to a .dds file. (DXT1 or DXT5) The file will be named: Act_P6_Port_authorities_Custom.dds
If you have Adobe Paintshop, install the plug-in to convert the .psd to .dds, you can find the plug-in here:
C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim\Tools

EDIT: I use DXT1 as it is a smaller file and I can't tell any difference in quality.

Not in SS06, but I think yes in SS08 ;)
In SS06, the harbour patrol will still be there though ;)

what if I still want the regular, plain old Patrol Boat-Custom, though? You know, like if I want to make multiple skins?

save it to your desktop and then drag it?

I mean the previous Custom Patrol Boat's file is in the way. should I delete it?
Also, is it possible to make it a dss file to see what remains to be painted or changed, but then turn it back into a .psd file and continue working?

Hmm, what I would do, is create a folder on Desktop or whereever, then save the .psd's in there each time you make significant progress ;)

ok. I was thinking of copying the psd file before making it a dds one....

There is plenty of info on how do do this if you just search the forum.
