I have no idea, how many ferry requests we can find within the forum until now! And it's really amazing, how patient captain03 is trying to show "his" ferries, respect! :D
-
Are you sure? Well, than here is mine...
-
The Istanbul ferries are crazy cos there are so many of them in such a small expanse of water it just looks like ever single on is going to crash. Amazingly they don't.
-
i would like the dover to calais ferries although that would require the port of Dover and Calais

Suomenlinna ferryes are quite small, and that's why I think they might suite the game.
This is the new one:
It has Azimuth propellers.
Lenght 33 meters
Widith 8.5 meters
Speed 8 knots
Detailed pictures at page 12
http://www.onnettomuustutkinta.fi/uploads/oiohg.pdf
This is the old one:
http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuva:Suomenlinnan_lautta.JPG
It has two tradditional propellers and rudders in each end. I don't know if they use one or both propellers when travelling. One in reverse and one forward...
Lenght 39 meters
Widith 9 meters
Speed 9 knots

Be careful with terms like "world's largest" :-) Each company pretends they have the largest !
Here a top 35 of the europe's largest car ferries (only of Europe, don't know about the rest of the world) :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Largest_ferries_of_Europe
The Ulysses only comes at the 11th position !
The Pride of Rotterdam, which is already present in the game, is the 3rd ... And the biggest at this time are the sister ships Color Magic and Color Fantasy :

Worlds largest car ferry by capacity ;)
The Pride of Hull, Stena Britannica and Colour Magic are in front of the Ulysses when it comes to Overall length.
Which capacity? Top in Pax: COLOR FANTASY/MAGIC; in Cars: PRIDE OF HULL/ROTTERDAM; in Lanemeter: FINNMAID/-STAR...; in Beds: SILJA EUROPA. There is nothing left for the ULYSSES to be the largest, nothing!
-

The Ullysses is the largest ferry by car capacity. The Pride of Rotterdam is larger, but the Ullysses manages to fit almost 1000 extra cars.
-
This is my last comment, for sure! If you have a look into the outstanding ferry-bible from ShipPax, you'll see for cars: PRIDE 1380, for ULYSSES 1342. The latter was reached by using five different decks/platforms - so where should this vessel place 1000 extra cars? ::)

How about this one?

By the way, your pictures are fine, but it wasn't the initial purpose of this topic - or the subject text isn't well choosen !

Hi, i would like to see the Pride of Dover in Shipsimulator. It would be interesting to see this classic ship in ship sim. (or the port of Dover would make a good enviroment as well) ;D
-
If Captin03 shows his rescect to his 'Ferries' i would be glad to join in.
-
What is the point in adding extra ferries, if the present ferries have crap handling characteristics, surely it would be more like sense to get the present ferries up to scratch. As opposed to adding more crap handling ships.
Cheers,
-
What do you mean by rubbish handling?

We have enough quantity of ferries here in SS: Red Eagle, Red Jet 4, Pride of Rotterdam. And you still want more, or you think that something is still missed in the SS Ferry Service? It should be named "Ferry Simulator" then. :D
Maybe I'm not a ferry fan, but if you ask me which ferry I'd like to see in future SS, the answer will be so:

The GMV (Government Motor Vessel) ARAMOANA Her name, in NZ Maori means "pathway Across the Sea (or waters) She was the first RO_RO ship on the NZ coast and entered service in 1962 replacing the Union Lines TAMAHINE & RANGATIRA, she could carry both rail wagons (on her lower deck) as well as cars and trucks, and cars only on the uppper deck. TAMAHINE was a convetional ship and took almost all day to load and dsicharge, ARAMOANA could turn around in an hour. She was followed by ARANUI, ARAHANGA, ARATIKA, ARAHURA. I travelled on ARAMOANA many times as a child--usually as a guest of thje captain, and served aboard her as an assistant purser, she has now been scrapped but she was a wonderful seaboat :)

There were 4 sisters intotal and 1 uprated semi sister. They were all built in Spain, the first 4 were built for Norse Merhcant Ferries/Norfolkline and the last for Transmed.
The first 4 were...
Dawn Merhcant
Brave Merchant
Northern Merchant
Midnight Merchant (now European Endeavour)

It would also be nice to have one of the larger car carriers as well...

And then, if we can add the islands of Hawaii (or at least Oahu and Maui, where the ship is currently sailing between (which is a nice voyage), then things would be even better :D

Haha the IKEA ferry agin, funny that one hehe ;)
I could make a list of ferrys Id love to see in shipsim but then the forumservers would break down ;D
Well well, I feel that the game misses an midsized RoPax or a Cargoferry, think Maersk Flanders or Stena Traveller and you know what I mean. I realy like those kind of ships but maybe Im alone on that one haha.

No, sadly not.
I had a look at tug, but the camera focused on the chain link fence rather then the tug. :-[ It looks to end with -on 6, It was taken in Zeebrugge also, not sure where the Bugsier works..

I didn´t read the whole topic, but I saw that one turkish guy showed his country´s scrap metal. I dont´t want to see this scrap metal in SS.
SS already have one car ferry Red Eagle. Another one is not necessary. In SS there should be different types of ships, not many ships of the same type.
I propose some my country´s ferrys.

Well I don't want you to, its what Condor say. A fellow forum user here is also a Captain of their fast craft, and he asked if the vessels and the environment could be included, but they said no because they didn't want to see their ships on ship simulator sink.
So yeah, well done Removed who like to sink our ships -.-

*Its a SR.N4
there were 3 types:
Mk I was the original The Princess Anne and The Princess Margaret
Mk II featured a improved Skirt, and featured the Swift, Sure, St Christopher and Prince of Wales, as well as the Anne and Margaret who both eventually received the Mk II Skirt
MK III was the final and biggest incarnation of the SR.N4, when The Princess Anne and The Princess Margaret were stretched
You also had the Sedam N500, but the first one Cote d'Argent was destroyed by fire soon after completion, the second was the Ingenieur Jean Bertin which after proving less then a success with mechanical problems was scrapped

The Peralta is a catamaran ferry with three decks and a roughly estimated length of 80-100 feet.
The interiors include a snackbar, airliner seating, observation windows and an upper deck seating area with a few deck chairs and regular benches.
