Title: Cobra Fins
Post by: Agent|Austin on August 08, 2008, 05:39:53
http://www.cobrajetsteering.com/

What do you guys think? My uncle and I were going to get some but we found out that when we are doing our spin outs (40 knts and hard starboard) they could snap off. And that at high speeds the stern draft is lower and we would hit the rocks we just barely miss now.

I think if you have a deep lake and are more of a pleasure driver they are great. But we are roller coaster drivers.

It is actually a "pond" because it has no inlet and outlet it is rain supplied.

It is also not charted, but a retard dropped a huge anchor in the middle of the wide open area that most boats can't go over.

Here is the "pond"

Areas I colored RED are SHALLOW!  Areas colored orange have rocks/anchors.  Yellow is where you can go. Green is our house.

The good part is on week days you can easily just drop the boat in the water in 5 minutes and go out when you get home from work, and on weekdays no one else is ever on the lake.

We take our boat out to the atlantic ocean also, and on the river, but since this is 20 feet from our house it is the easiest place to go.

Yeah well my cousin (3 years old) loves waves, so I do figure eights in the boats and jump our own wake.

Yea we have to travel about 4 miles or more to get from the boat ramp to the Container Terminals. Lots of Boats to jump there wakes at 20+ knots, We once hit a ships wake at that speed. I got soaked. :D There was also one times we were at the container terminals and there were one to three foot wakes. :)

And then slid to the back.

One time we went to 40knts and turned hard to port, and we didn't put the plugs in all the way so they popped and popped the cover off and we stopped in like 1 second and the wake came up over the stern and hit my cousin, quiet funny. When I jumped the wake on the jetski those crunching sounds almost sound like you broke something. :p

You would have to hit a huge wave to crack your hull (if its fiberglass).
