Title: Prettiest Airport Contest
Post by: llamalord on July 20, 2008, 20:40:07
In this modern world of air travel we look for the nicest airports to comfort our jet lagged selves.

I'd like to see some photos of what you think to be the Prettiest Airport in the world.

After at least 5 Airports come in I will post them all on this top post and then start a poll to see which airport IS the Prettiest Airport in the world of Aviation.

All entries must include:
   At least 2 pictures
   A name
   A location
   The ICOA code
   A brief description.

Prettiest Airports:

Nantucket Memorial Airport: KACK -Nantucket, Massachusetts
Also known as: "Tom Nevers Field" to watchers of "Wings"

For me it's the Airport Berlin Tempelhof (EDDI), located in the middle of Berlin City.

Tempelhof kept Berlin alive during the blockade after WWII (Luftbrücke)
Most Pilots say it's one of the most beautiful places to land at.
Unfortunately there are plans to close this Airport down.

Princess Julianna Airport(PJIA)

Probably one of the coolest and prettiest airports out there.
It has also been named the lowest landing airport in the world. On the arrival runway, the planes come within just 20 feet of the beach sitting next to the airport. Beachgoers get the a wild ride while sunbathing when a 747 flies 20 feet over their head ;D

My dad flew into Denver twice and brought back some pictures and said it looked like Cirque Du Soleil had been there. ;)
