if he dose not have the box and dosr not have the game instaleed i think he can email vstep and ask them if they can give him his key

I would like to add that VSTEP is not just going to give someone a license key.
There would need to be some proof of purchase, so that VSTEP know's it is a legit version, not an illegally downloaded game.
Otherwise, they cannot be sure.
And if no such proof exsist, well than it is unfortunatly a case of "take better care of your possessions next time".
If you throw the box out, then that is something you are responsible for yourself. But maybe you coulkd take a photograph of the CD, to prove you have it.
