I get it with other servers a lot, but I just got it with my own server! What is the cause and how do I fix it?
-
yes, i have been getting that message on some servers also, the trick is to join another server then go back to the one with the error, it should fix it. :)

I went to the official Marseille, since there were no other non-NH user servers open, and played a short while there, but when I tried to return to my servers after, both gave ,e the same message AGAIN!

Obvious, let me ask.
DO you have a valid license key. ::) :P
In your server software restart the server then click "update to database" try again.
-
FINALLY!
I had to quit the whole server software, then get the thing back up and reload both servers.

My guess is that your servers disconnected from the VSTEP database and then it couldn't check license keys so it just removed and died. :P

Then your connection with your server locally on your network removed and died. :P
One way or another it removed and died. :P

Lets just leave it at. Once again there was a VSTEP hangover and they tripped on the database wire and they forgot about it. Wout logs onto the forum later that day and fines 50,000 topics about database errors. :P

Do you have your server set to "occassional ping" as well as "update to database"?
That will make problems.
Also, make sure that you have introduced your firewall to the server program.

This is the first time it's acted up, out of the long life of the "Biggest Ships" server. It works perfectly now. I need no more help.
