Post by: Minime on June 11, 2008, 22:38:27

Hi Minime,

Sounds like a great idea, part of the sudden government focus on Climate change, imagine that eh, a fully electric powered Liner without fuel pumps or anything environment damaging. Hehe.

Sounds like a good surprise aswell.

Keep us all informed won't you. ;D

Kind Regards

I'll keep you informed,  I have alreay started on the hull so maybe some pics are coming tomorrow. But on this ship we need no funnel for any smoke, so I don't know if I should make one. I think I'm gonna make a little wath out tower instead that looks like a funnel.

Hi here are the first updates
It's not near to be finish, so it may not look so good.
As for now, it has 6 azipods, but they are rather small so I'm gonna make new ones.(found them in the warehous)
It takes water in at the bulb at high speed, and the water goes trough some turbines, and makes energy.
It will also have some solar panels and other stuffs

it is a good start but how would you genorate the amounts of elctisity needed to power the ship
Title: Re: Electrical ship
Post by: Minime on June 16, 2008, 17:41:05
I believe those turbines would generate the most of the power needed. If we had somthing to store the energy in, like batteries, they would be fully loaded in port, and then when the ship would reach about 30kn the turbines would be enaugh to make energy with.

30kn wow that is fast for a ship never mind a eletric one

The hull is almost done now.
There will be 5 turbine tubes, so there should be enaugh of energy.

You dont have to buy it you can test it on the demo, but it has a 10 min gameplay time limit :(

But in the demo you can launch the game as many times as yu wont and leave off exactly were you were. Kinda, odd, demo.

Choosing words carefully, got in trouble for saying the word meening the air comming out of your back end xD

The ship 320 m long, and 50 m wide, and depth from waterline is about 14-15 m.(haven't made any azipods yet so I don't know the exact depth)

15 meaters that is a large deth for a ship of that size
Title: Re: Electrical ship
Post by: Minime on June 18, 2008, 22:34:35
yeah, it's because of the azipods
Title: Re: Electrical ship
Post by: pauljanaway1 on June 18, 2008, 22:35:40
oh yes because they add a cuple of meters onto the botten of the ship

So is this a perpetual motion ship, or would it eventually run out? Maybe nuclear power would be a good idea too, and it would be interesting to hear an electric ship, I'm liking it  ;)

Hi I started all over makinning the ship, because it was a little to deep, but it will look almost the same as this one
Title: Re: Electrical ship
Post by: Minime on June 27, 2008, 23:29:14
The ship is almost done on the outside(but no details, they will come later) so I was thinking of trying it on VS. As I understand I don't have to buy it right?
picture's will come soon.
The new ship does look a bit different, but I like it.

Here are the new pictures of my new model, maybe we should call it Poseidon 2.
     336 m long
     50  m wide
about7 m deep(with out the azipods)
Speed: about 25knots
Well it appears the  pic size is to big :-\

I got mine pictures working now so here they are

The azipods will not affect the draft of the ship as the bottom of the azipod is always above the keel line, otherwise they could not dry dock the ship. See photo.
