don't know where this should go. i found a Carpathia model for google sketchup. she would be awsome in SS08 or SS09.

Well trains,
Firstly, the author of such a creation would have to come to an agreement with a developer to put something in a game, no one can just grab such a model and use it.
And secondly, Sketchup models, as you probably know, are not going to be used for SS08/09.
Sketchup just wont do. :)

ah. what program does VSTEP use?
-
I'm not sure about what other programs they use alongside it, but I believe their main modeling software is 3DSMAX.

They do use 3DSMAX. Their 3rd party letter wanted all models in 3ds format. They also use internal programs they made to make the ship playable.
-
Actually they use Quest3D. QuestViewer is the run-time graphics engine. VSTEP asks for 3dsMax files because they are easily imported into Quest3D, and 3dsMax is less expensive and more commonly used than Quest3D.

As usual, I find that Titanic rendering poor. I bet those funnels aren't even tilted 10 degrees!

if you do make the ship to vstep standers then i see no reson why they will not put it in the game

Here's a site where they do in 3D-models..It aint cheap.. ;)
