Hi, before I purchase this game I would like to know if it has coop lan play? :-\
I have Trainz 2004 & 2006 but what it lacks is multiplay & after a short time is rather boring, could someone give advise this and gameplay please? :)

well. i dont know about this coop lan play. but i can try to advise you.
Ship Simulator 2008:
Dynamic ocean waves, with realistic ship motions
Long distance travels , open ocean voyages between ports
Visible damage system

Eight new vessels, including a modern harbor tug with advanced azimuth thrusters and a pushboat with 4 different cargo barges.
Online multiplayer free-roaming action, including towing.
Brand new sailing area Cornwall (Padstow), built with advanced visuals and bumpmapping technology.
20 new missions, involving the new vessels and the new environment.
Unlimited gameplay: In-game downloading of new missions.
Option to connect and disconnect barges to the pushboat in-game.
New walkthrough options: explore the pushboat's highly detailed enginge room.
(Its stand multiplayer included in the add-on. but u can get Multiplayer by update it to 1.3 or 1.4.1. Personly i wanna update to 1.3) but its your choose.

Yes this ship simulator has multi play and if you see the icons under user name that are the rating rang, and when you play a mission with success you got a higher raithing

yes multipalyer on ship simulator is very good there a cuple of bugs but that is so minor you wont even see them

Yes I noticed that it said online multiplay but wasn't sure if it covered lan play. I am a member of Subsim & love Silent Hunter III, I only stumbled on this simulator by accident, so I just had to inquire, looks like a must have. 8) Please tell me, is it moddable ?

Well I took the plunge & purchased it, just have to wait for it to be freighted, can't wait to try the Titanic ... now where did I put my captains hat! :D

If you have version 1.0 of Ship Simulator, then you will need the 1.0>1.3 update. If you have version 1.1, then you will need the 1.1>1.3 update. You can check your version number in the lower-left corner of the main game menu ;)
You may need to use a Mirror site to download the patches now, try GamersHell:
1.0>1.3: http://www.gamershell.com/download_22513.shtml
1.1>1.3: http://www.gamershell.com/download_22514.shtml
Either of these patches will bring your game fully up-to-date, and they include all previous updates :)

Welcome to the forum. As you may have noticed, they are a really helpful bunch of people. If you have any queries you will find that someone (sometimes almost everyone) will be pleased to give advice.
You will find that many of them are totally insane, unlike me. I am renowned as the very serious and sombre person around here. But someone has to bring some sanity to this crazy place.
