He discovered the Titanic wreck, and visited the Lusitania wreck, but has he been to the wreck of the 3rd most famous ship in history?

3rd Famous ship you say? Many can be famous.. the Fitzgerald has been dived to and photoshoots have been done but noone could ever solve the mistery as the current state of sinking is "theoretical" .. in other words.. what "could" have happend to make her sink.
I just wonder what you think Bob Ballard could do with it, other then providing one more theory to it?
and ehm.. he visited Bismarck hasn't he? that's my top 3 from him m8?

if it's true that is.. just tried to do some research on which ship actually IS a famous sinking.. and which one isn't.. as there are so many.. and different websites give theyre own conclusion to what "famous" is... so therefore my conclusion of questioning your number 3 on your list dear sir ;D

as i am into marine shipping... at least.. love history. I'd like to see the Royal oak and the Yorktown again, or the splattered remains of the HMS Hood.. but i'm quite sure if i search well enough pictures of either can be found as the first two are quite large targets, but then again there's nothing that misterious about theyre sinkings.. as it was wartime and they were sunk in battle.. (just retrieving info from my mind.. haven't googled any hehe)
But if you really want Bob Ballard or anyone else to dive for the wreck again, just spread the rumor on shipsinkingforums that you've found a document that she wasn't just "transporting ore" but something alot more valuable.... i'm pretty sure theyll turn the ship inside out then! ;) But i dont think the relatives of those who died will like that idea very much. Theyll hate me now for thinking it up i'm sure. sorry.

Indeed, there are many "famous" sunken ships.
Big Fitz is famous on the Great Lakes, but i don't think it rings a bell with people world wide.
Everyone know's the Titanic and the Bismarck.
Ofcourse the story about the Edmund Fitzgerald is an interesting one, but i don't think it could get the interest of people all over the world, and though, of famous divers and such. It's more a "local" thing.

I consider this the top three:
1) Titanic
2) Lusitania
3) Edmund Fitzgerald
(Have you ever noticed how for all of these, the names were only used once?)

Wish i had a camera then when i was about 10 (22 years back..) i saw a luxury yacht that was named Titanic.. as my dad pointed me to it.. i had no clue then what the titanic actually was.
It is that the Fitzgerald was featured once on National Geographic .. or else i wouldn't even know it had existed at all.. so good call on that Eemspoort.
Guess it's not a global story mr Gigantic, just chance that we've heard offit. sorry to ruin your personal Top 3.
