At early 2007, my ICT teacher used to teach us about ships and let us played SS06 on the school computer (That is when i first knew shipsim) I liked the ship sim 2006 that my teacher let us play that i borrowed the disc from my teacher and install it immediately after i had reached home. I soon go on shipsim.com but at that time, i do not know how to sign up to the forum. At late 2007 I got the SS08 and deleted the SS06. That is my history of Ship Simulator. :D

The first time i heard of ship simulator was when i was searching for real Titanic videos and i stumbled accross what i thought was just an animated video that someone had made of Titanic, but then i realised it was a Game and i began to search for videos of ship sim and thats how i'm here now, oh and my first ship sim game was 06, i bought that then only a few days later ship sim 08 was released (i didn't know) typical hey haha.

Greetings,
I was looking on the net,for some sims about boats, that was 3 months before the first edition came out(June 06).
However the forum was allready started, with a few topics and boards(old forum).I registrated myself immidiatly(membernr 42).
Afther my holidays in June,i ran directly to the Free record shop, and got myself the 06 version. All ready afther i installed the game,i was impressed by the scenery and vessels.
Now,i have them all.
Not only for the game itself, but to have it as a collection.Ones and a while i review, how it all started.
Very nice thing to do.

I bought a "simulator" called Captain of the Queens. It said it was a realistic sim of QM2, QE2 etc.
Well, it wasn't. It was 2D, and disappointing.
So one day, I was reading Ships Monthly. And I saw an ad for SS06. I thought, this is for me! Remembering Captain of the queens :P
So, I bought SS06 the same day :)
Had to update the PC to run it properly though.
Still worth every penny! ;D

My first ship simulator would have actually been the submarine simulator "Silent Service" from Microprose on the good old Commodore 64 in way back in 1985.

One of the boldest posts on the forum history.
This guy admits on the official forum that his has illegally copied the game, funnily enough nobody seems to care. :)

Something we have to look for now.
I think you're must be crazy to give your cd-rom of the game away, because if that guy is smarter, and installed the game before you, than your licence-key is no longer valid.
I have the same story overhere, someone i know gave his cd,to a friend, now that friend was quicker to installed the game and key.
Now the guy is complaining,to that friend, that he used(abused)his trust.
Who was the crazy guy on this?
The copy itself was not elligal at all, only he has to buy an new one again.
