After playing the game for about 6 hours I have found the controls are a pain and do not work has quoted, small ships throttle to be held down all the time, large ships can be graduated and stay in that posistion, not true you have to ho;d the throttle down in all ships unless you use the mouse control.
Is this a glitch in the game has the system worked great in 2006 with no problems.
Any help appreciated

Using the Shift key (hold it down, then arrow up) should allow you to move the throttle controls incrementally rather than just having to use the mouse ;)

Absolutely Not..
In SS08 I am using my Logitech G25 steering wheel for Rudder with the paddle shifters for thrusters. I also have my CH throttle Quadrant hooked up and have 2 axis dedicated to Engine 1 and engine 2. the Crane is also controlled with my throttle quadrant which is far better than a keyboard/mouse.
I can now use multiple controllers for multiple functions controlling each engine independently and never have to touch the keyboard.
The controls in SS08 are light years beyond the controls in SS06...
Just my .02,

We spent a lot of time making the controls fully settable to anybody's needs.
Look in the Options - Controls section.
You can use your preferred settings in combination with the right-side Shift key for fine control.

Well the one thing I noticed, and think is verry unfortunate because it was in 2006, was that when you look outside the ship. And I meen the titanic, that you don't see the actual control's as on the bridge. You see in the leftbottom of the screen very new controls.
In 2006 you had the real controls as they where on the bridge. Maybe something for an update? ;)
