I failed in a mission because I was trying to approach the supertanker in the fog (in the Solent!!!) and managed to switch to a binoculars presentation on the screen, which meant that I could not see the controls. I don't know how this came about. Please can anybody tell me what I would have done to switch the screen presentation and how to go back to normal presentation i.e. put the glasses down!
Thanks.

As far as I'm aware the default binnocular view is through your mouse scroll wheel you may have knocked this while moving the mouse I think that you can change this in the settings so you can assign another button to do this.
hope this helps.

The default for the binoculars is the scroll wheel, scroll towards the screen (away from you) to activate and to zoom in. Scroll away from the screen (towards you) to de-activate and zoom out.

If there is a pair of binoculars lying about and you click them, you will be in binocular view.
Zoom out to put them down.
