Go in much more slowly. Starboard engine ahead, port engine reverse. You're hitting the shallow reef on the starboard side or else the shallow area on the port side as you go in. Expand the chart (press the + key on your number pad) to see a more detailed map.

What is the white object in the second picture?

If that's a sailing yacht that you have collided with (or rather.. smashed into), then a collison might have caused this capsizing movement perhaps.  :-\

Hi Fred.

It is a sailing yacht.

But, as he said he was capsizing upon start-up, I don't think this is a "built-in" mission, unless he has a problem somewhare in his set up.

Hey Terry,

Yes that's what I thought.

But I cannot think of a reason why Titanic would capsize, unless you hit something or when you run aground or put the anchor down at speed.

But the position that she's in, on the pictures, does not suggest it's a spot where the water is very shallow.

So unless our leg is being pulled, I don't know what to think.   ;D

Regards,
Fred

Th eother possibility is a bugged Custom Mission.

But perhaps this is just a photo-shop thing?

Might be a bug then,   :-\

What game version are you running?  (You can see it in the main game menu, in the lower left hand corner)

If you aren't running the latest version, then I suggest you update your game and see if that fixes this issue.

You can get the patches here:
http://www.shipsim.com/downloads/patches.php

If you have V1.0, then download and install the V1.0 to V1.3 patch.
If you have V1.1, then download and install the V1.1 to V1.3 patch.
But if you allready have V1.3, then forget I said anything.  :)

Regards,
Fred

Ran a couple tests on that one,, 2 possibilities for earlier versions,, if Phi Phi islands depth was corrected in a later version then that's why it would do that in the default start point,, in the 2nd start point there are some AI sailing ships right in front of you so possible those were moved in the later versions.  But with V1.3 doesn't do it,, of course if I try moving forward from the 2nd start point I'll get rammed by those sailing boats  :o  That pic looks to be from the 2nd start point between the islands.
