Hello,
this weekend I've been working on this :D. It's all done with the awesome program Paint! It's a harbor patrol boat in the colors of the QM2 xP. This is my first edited object ever =). Hope you like it.
I'd love it if someone could give me tips how to make it look better xP. Please no tips like "Use Photoshop" because I have no idea how it works xP, and no you do not have to teach me =).
Download link:

Note: Go to C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim2006\Actors\act_dynamic_objects and paste the .dds in there to get it ingame.
Please PM me if anything is wrong with the download link.
Pictures: EDIT: The pictures are resized, they're smaller then they are supposed to be o_o.

Thanks!! :)

Great! But how did you edit it in paint? PM me if you want.
Will download it now!
-
I downloaded an easy skin to edit on www.shipsim.net (the HMS Echo).
I converted it into a .png image by using a DDS converter.
Then I started coloring it with paint xP. It's a really careful work though, and a pain in the @ss o:.
When I was done I converted the .png image back to .dds and put it in my ShipSim folder, and voila =D.

Can i Pm you on where you can download a dds converter. I don't want to go off topic in your thred.
-
Okay. I'll pm you soon with instructions how it works =).
Edit: Maybe I'm going to create a guide how to make a custom ship.

The DDS Converter 2:

Please PM me if anything is wrong with it.
How it works:
First you need WinRAR to unpack it.
Google it, it's easy to find.
Then rightclick the converter (when it's still a .rar) and click Extract Here.
Then a folder called DDS Converter 2 will be created. Open it and you'll see DDS Converter 2.exe. Open that. Then if you want to extract a .png image to .dds, look at the bottom of the DDS Converter. It says: Output format : *now you can choose what*. If you want .png to .dds click search for your .png, highlight it, and put Output format to .dds. Then press convert and your .png changes into .dds =).
.dds to .png is exactly the same. Highlight your .dds, change output format to .png and convert =).
Also I pmed this to you xP. Maybe more people wanted to know.

I see the Cunard company name and the logo on the texture you just have added.
Nice addition! ;) Is that content fictional or are you using the real comany name of the ship owner? :)

Cunard owns the real Queen Mary 2 xP.

Cunard owns the real Queen Mary 2 xP.
Yes, I know that. And you use the Ciunard company name and the logo with permission from them I guess... 8)
