Post by: thegodon on December 14, 2007, 20:57:18
Hi,
While looking on koopvaardij.web-log.nl I noticed this picture. It's clearly the ship which was used to design the Agile Solution ship. Just wanted to show you guys  ;).

Hello Shipaddict  ;),
Well, you probably didn't search the forum, but only the subforum or even the thread you were in.
To search the forum you need to be at the "Home" level, not (for instance) at the level
Ship Simulator > English forum > Ship Simulator 2008 > Feature requests and suggestions
where you only search in this part.  ::)
Regards,
Luc

She has been up in the River Clyde a couple of times in the past few months, carrying large pieces of wind turbines.

it was nice to see Deo Volente sailing past, knowing I've got a ship which looks like her in SS2006 Add-on & SS2008 Add-on.

No...that ship is identical....how come they didn't name it the same then? To avoid paying copyright stuff?

There is only one ship from this type yet (they are gonna build 2 more). The owner, Hartman Seatrade, designed it therself, and i think they give permisson (and the blueprints) to Vstep.

But Deo Volente is a Christen name from the Bible, perhaps Vstep changed it keep everyone happy  ;)

I am sorry, but that doesn't look like it at all!

Other type of cranes, completely different superstructure, funnel at other place, other hull shape.

But still, a beautifull ship.

I guess you're right that would be awesome, however I don't see it happen in the near future  :'( Anyway some more foto's of the deo volente at the shipwarf.

Strange fact: the deo volente can't enter her home port (Urk) because she's to big  8)

Could be but I found this quote on http://www.opurk.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15003&Itemid=2 (http://www.opurk.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15003&Itemid=2) (Dutch website):
Urk, de naam van de thuishaven die het 'scheepje', eenmaal afgebouwd, door haar formaat nooit meer kan aandoen.

In English:
Urk, the name of the home port of the 'ship', which finished, will never be able to enter because of her size.

RMS Titanic never entered her home port —Liverpool—and it was never intended that she would.
Deo Volente’s hull was built in the Stettin, Poland yards of OAG GmbH. The engineering was by Vuyk Engineering, in Groningen for Hartman Marine of Urk.
I believe the final construction was done on the IJsselmeer outside Urk harbor.
In addition to her cranes, she also has a swimming pool.

But don't you think is kind of strange for a ship to be unable to enter her home port? At least it doesn't make sense to me   ;)

I surely must agree with RMSGreatBritain! She's a real beauty, and one of my favourite ships in the game. It's just a pitty that the cranes block your view, but I guess they do that in real life as well.

This, together with the Jumbo Javelin, are my two favourite ships in the game - especially having (belatedly) discovered that one can explore the entirety of the ship in 'person' camera mode.  Fabulous! :D
