??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
I have the patch right, but how in the name of royal airbags do i sink the titanic in open sea? there are NO icebergs in the atlantic for laughting out loud. All i can do is crash it into a new york wall.
-
Aye.
You either do the official mission on 'Missions'.
Or ya go into Mission Editor, slap some icebergs down, and away she goes.
I saw another topic by yourself about the same thing. ???
Media forum? :o

This has been covered several times in other posts.
There are no icebergs or any other objects in the oceans in free roam.
Icebergs are placed in the ocean when a mission is created.
As lordbob5 said, you can either run the Titanic to New York built-in mission (or some other such mission) or you can use the Mission Editor to make your own mission and put icebergs wherever you want—Phi Phi, New York’s East River, etc.
There are instructions in the Tutorials under FAQ and Anouncements.

what i usually damage her in the right spot then throw out the anchors. then just switch to the open sea. she will sink in the ocean. musu be done in free roam 8) ::)
-
hmmmm..... very clever,lol ;)
-
Just one point....if you put your icebergs in Phi Phi you'll have to be pretty quick or else they'll be melted before you get there ::)
-
Just hit Alt+F4 and watch her go down!

::)
Watch Ship Simulator 'close down'
Alt+F4 will close down any running application that has 'focus' (the one you are using at the time).

;D
Oh come on, don't spoil it. hehehe
Sorry.. but these threads just make me sad. It's ship sim, not sink sim!
-
I don't like to sink ships either, but I know some members do ;)
-
Yup, unfortunatly. Otherwise there wouldn't be addons like "twin towers for FS" out there ::)
-
Things like that make me >:(
-
You and me both, mate.

Not at all, that was a general comment. It wasn't aimed at any particular person :)

It’s a family secret.
Actually, if you must sink her, you should do so just offshore so she can form a reef habitat for marine life.

i found a new tip. in a harbour, put out the nchors at the start. the switch to open ocean. she will stand up or capsize. its awsome.

You can see a similar effect if you tow a vessel into a new environment; the tug is in the new environment, but the tow is in the old. Who knew nylon could stretch that much?
Apparently the anchors won’t drag that much.

While I was testing a mission I'm writing, I anchored Lattitude and Pioneer. I saved the game and it crashed a short time afterwards. "No probs" I thoiught. "I have a saved copy". I reloaded the saved copy and switched to Pioneer. It was travelling at 32 knots, upside down with ever extending anchor rope (must be very stretchy nylon). The view from teh wheelhouse was fun, to say the least.
"Aha!" I thought. I then switched to Lattitude and found I was travelling on my side at about 10 knots, with ever lengthening anchor chains. I went into the wheelhouse and out of the port "wing". Although I was probably 30 foot under water, it was quite relaxing, so I made a cup of coffee and swam with the fishes. Then I walked out to the Starboard wing and found I was 20 foot or so in the air. The game was making a "wing wake" in the water, so very realistic!
Pioneer steered quite well (considering it was upside down). The only way I could end the game was to crash Pioneer into Lattitude and take them both down.
Sorry no pictures, but I was laughing so much I didn't even think about it. ;D Next time, I will take some.

You can't sink a ship if you hit an iceberg because icebergs are only in missions and it will not let you sink in missions, a ''mission failed'' sign will pop up right before the water leacks up on deck.

a large hole i had a hole like that but in the vermass lasting most the way down my starboard side
-
Another way is to run flat-out & ram the oil rig! I did this by accident with the Latitude, didn't take long and she went down bow first, quite spectacular from bridge, the angle down & water rushing up the deck! ;D
-
i never have been able to find the oil rig on free rome where is it
-
North Sea IIRC, near Norway, roughly in the center! zoom out & should show on map :)
