Just wondering... how long does it take the real PoR to move off the linkspan and turn around.
If I recall correctly, it normally reverses up a few hundred yards into the wider part of the dock before turning? How long does it usually take until that point?
Also... How long do other people take in the game to get to that point... I've... Mislaid my times. What a shame!

Good point, I must admit that i am intrested to know to as well as i dont know for certain. As a professional Mariner i would say that by doing this is the only way to come off the berth at Rotterdam. Swinging the ship in the end basin is somthing you would only attempt in a simulator! A friend of mine worked as a pilot for BA a few years ago and worked on their simulators at Heathrow. One of the thingsthey used to day (apparently) was to fly a 747 under the Golden Gate bridge. Again not something to attempt in the real world, just in the confines of a simulator !!!

Stuart, I've just had a go and it took me exactly 7 minutes to get off the berth turn her short round in the wider part of the dock and be heading due north out. I seriously doubt if that could happen in reality, but then I have no experience of these modern super ships,so maybe it could happen. :D

I... errr... took... 16 minutes to leave the berth, reverse and turn opposite the moored freighter.
Oh dear... I must improve. It's been a while since I've been back home to even try it!

I think 15mins is a fairly relastic time todo it in. :D
