Oceana Ship Information
Oceana takes British cruising into the next era. Her sense of glamour combined with contemporary liner styling will make her a popular choice, particularly if you're new to cruising.
Oceana has all the facilities and choice of a superliner whilst retaining the intimacy and warmth of a smaller vessel. Her open decks offer terraced lidos, shady promenades and quiet nooks for secluded sunbathing. She also boasts a stunning Atrium, alternative dining options and beautifully spacious cabins with the luxury of a private balcony in a variety of grades.
If you're looking for opulence and glamour, you'll find it on Oceana.

Anyone :D
-
Of course the finest with the high end liner "Europa".. ;D
-
My favourite is Cunard :)
QE2 and QM2 ;D
-
I like Cunard also.
It's a company from the time of the old steam ocean liners. They also bought the "White Star Line" from the titanic 2.
The thing with modern cruise ships which I don't like is that it is just a massive building which isn't really a ship anymore. Those ships carrying 4000 - 5000 passengers is nice, but in my opinion they're not really ships anymore, there pretty ugly and they're not practical at all.
Holland America Line is also from the old generation, and however their new ships don't really have the classic look anymore, they still stuck to the classic interior and small amounts of passengers (realive much space per passenger)
Back to the old generation from Holland America Line and Cunard!
-
My favorite is JHB Cruising ;) ;D

KDS
Just a quick point in case you didn't already know. It's registered in Cardiff. All British flagged vessels are registered in Cardiff. The operators are permitted to say 'London' or 'Dover' or whatever, but since computerisation took over, it's all recorded in one place.
Sorry for the OT.

My favorite cruise line is, of course, SIO. The fare is quite reasonable, $0, and the chow is good. However you eat cafeteria style, on bare Formica tables, while on my second favorite, WHOI, one has a white tablecloth and is served by mess stewards.
One has to make do without the rock climbing wall, but one is allowed to climb the mast to untangle balloon tethers, etc.
Ports of call include Papeete, Tahiti, Bounty Bay on Pitcairn Island, and Antofagasta, Chile where I spent a rousing New Years Eve watching the Bosun go to sleep while waiting for the otherwise deserted bar to fill with revelers—which happened around 11 PM.
Shipboard recreational activities include tossing 64 pound cases of TNT over the side, piston coring, and hauling in the streaming hydrophones and magnetometer while still doing 14 knots.
A common misconception is that R/V means Research Vessel, but we know it really means Recreational Vehicle.

Yes, they 'were' trans atlantic crossing vessels....
now they are cruise lines ;)
Blame the air aviation :)

I've been a ship fanatic since the age of 10. I prefer the old lines - Cunard, White Star, CGT, USL, Hamburg Amerika and North German Lloyd, etc...
As of late, I'm very angry at NCL for their poor handling of the France/Norway/Blue Lady and Independence situation.
All of my (real life) cruising is done on the Cooley Hurd, my Cruisers Inc Sport Vee:

Has to be cunard... the history and the fantastic ships and service. I think you really have to sail on one of her ships to appriceate the beauty. Have to say though think the era of ocean liners is coming to an end. Everybody said it would with the final crossing of the QE2 and the original QM but with the final voyage of the QM2 in 30 odd years time i realy belive that she will not be replaced with a true trans atlantic ocean liner.... big mistake on Cunards part... It will just become another cruise line with average ships painted in black and red unceperated from the rest despite the traditions and service it has on board.
Bit off the topic but hey... Cunard my favourite :D
