Title: New Ships?

Hi,

Does anybody know where, when or if there are plans to make other ships that can be incorporated into SS2008? I am particularly interested in a Dover - Calais cross channel ferry scenario. As one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, navigating the Dover straight between the two ports would make an excellent mission.

There are, and have over the years been, many different types of ferry operating out of Dover, all of different ages & capabilities. A range of different ships would be great.

Does anyone agree with the above? I would love to hear different viewpoints / ideas / suggestions.

Well, as the SS2008 Addon has just been released, I reckon the next new ship won't be around the corner very soon. For more details: http://www.shipsim.com/ShipSimForum/index.php/topic,3052.0.html

As you can see it is the 2008 version of the 2006 Addon, which is free for the people that own that 2006 Addon. It isn't done yet but when it is it will be available for purchase for those that do not own the 2006 version, aswell.

And when you speak of a Dover-Calais ferry crossing mission you're also talking about two new environments. (and an open sea one too I guess) Which would be a bit implausible to expect soon. If at all.

Would make a nice addition though, agreed. But then, so many people have good ideas. You'll never know what will be added next.

Poll is a little bit confusing. The addon is new enviroment, missions and new ships.  :)

It will be great idea if we could able to handle more Ro/Pax,or/and cruise vessels,
but it is also necessary for more harbours.
Hope this will be a reality soon!

New environment? Did I miss something? AFAIK it's 6 vessels and their missions (which will be added soon), not a new environment.

The Addon for 2006 came with New York as far I know...

but we still have NY with the SS08.. ??? As Mad_Fred  said: six wellknown vessels, that's it!

The New York environment was a free update (Update to v1.3), the Add-On was released seven months later and included only the six ships.
