Good evening!
Lately I've updated Ship Sim Extreme last version, v. 1.5.5, after installing it, I launched the game, the icon that normally appears flowed as if it were loaded, opened in continuation error messages, which I closed and opened it after another, all different, until at the end that got stuck.
I uninstalled everything and put everything in sequence, patches and updates for new vessels, up to version v.. 1.5. I launched the game again, and everything seems to work, I try to put the v1.5.5 patch, and again from the beginning, and does not start as usual errors.
I do not know what to do anymore, I can not understand what happened.
I hope someone can give me information about this, and solve the problem.
Best Regards

You must update to version 1.5 first, then to 1.5.5. See the Vstep website link I have attached.

Somehow I get the feeling Steam is involved. Do either of you have the Steam version of SSE?
If so, Steam automatically takes care of the updates..

COB you should register your license key here on the forum to give you access to the technical assistance section of the board. Meanwhile, try re-downloading/installing the v1.40 - v 1.55 patches, from experience they can sometimes take a few goes for them to cleanly install.
geovany2009 it is very bad ' netiquette' to hijack another persons thread

then where you want. me post this problem. if you won t help don t give me opinions like that. lol ;D
I have register all my serials keys from two years ago and they don t fix the problem so don t tell to people here you should register your license key here on the forum to give you access to the technical assistance because they don t do it

You can start your own thread by selecting 'New Topic' on the yellow band on the root of the forum section.

Registering your serial makes a huge difference, for a start without registering your serial all you can have access to on the forum is 'General Discussions' but, after you register you can see 'Multiplayer'', 'Feature requests and suggestions', 'Media' and most importantly 'Technical support'.
Also did you notice that Traddles, one of the moderators, answered your query rather than Cob's. I cant speak for Traddles but i suspect that it was because you are registered and Cob is not. So you see it does indeed make a difference and it undermines the ethos of the forum to think different.

A common fix for this problem is to update Microsoft Visual C++
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26347
It has been reported that selecting the x86 version rather than the x64 version works best.
Hope that helps.

P Lease don't give up just yet. If you follow this link: http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,28214.0.html You will see that rinaldi86 was in a similar situation to you and had installed all the latest updates from Microsoft and reinstalled the game and he still had dll faults and the game would not run.
Swenson asked him to reinstall the patches again which he did and it fixed the game for him. so even though you say you have tried everything, give it another go.

Hi TechnoSam6,
If you register your licence key in your forum profile you may find things turn out OK.

i had the same problem and robville knew the trick for me:
Alright, try to run these steps:
- Click on Start
- Type in the search box "Regedit"
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Vstep\ShipSimExtremes
- On the right side, there's a list with strings. Double click on the one which says "Build"
- Change the value to 1101
- Now open the patch to see if it wants to install
-
Yes, that advice from Mr Robville worked for me too (so as to install update 1.5.5-1.5.7)..
