Title: Cunard order new liner - "Queen Elizabeth"

Just read today that Cunard have ordered a new liner to be called "Queen Elizabeth" and is to be based in Southampton and enter service in 2010.

She is to be 92000 tons and accommodate 2092 passengers.  It will be the second largest Cunard has ever built after the QM2.

Wow, it's going to be built less than 20km from where I live! Of course, Fincantieri is one of the best yards in the world! ;D

Well, that shipyard has a great history too (Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth, HMS Hood, HMS Repulse, HMY Britannia, etc...)!  :)

Brilliant news, but i wish cunard would start building their ships on the clyde again. whatever happened to patriotism.

Clyde would be good. Where the original QE was built.

I realise the original Queen Elizabeth is no longer running but still, should this ship be called the Queen Elizabeth rather than QE 3 or something else altogether?  What are your thoughts?
