For those (like me) that had issues with the AMD Catalyst drivers 13.1 and had to Roll-back to version 12.1 to get SSE to run I have news.
I have downloaded and installed Catalyst version 13.3 Beta from the ATI website and tested SSE and it works perfectly.
Hope that is good news for some.

Thanks for posting that Sydmichel! ;D

It sure is ! I had given up on my SSE Collection due to the crashes. Installing the 13.3 Beta worked as a cure. I hope it stays this way. Thanks a lot for the advice, Syd.

I've had good luck with the previous AMD betas but the latest, 13.3 beta 3, is making my boats flicker. Almost enough to make me convulse.
I may try the previous beta and see if the flicker goes away. I did try graphics on medium and low with no luck.
This simulator is neat but seems very picky/unstable.

Does the roll back to 12.1 and the newer beta 3 drivers resolve the game crashing at initializing ?
Cause i just installed SSE and it won't even start, it crashes at "initializing"
(rig is my sig and i do have 13.1 drivers installed at the moment)

In my experience both allow the game to run. Install 12.1 for stability or try the beta drivers for more recent game support such as Farcry 3.
Hope that helps.

Well I uninstalled 13.1 and install the newest 13.3 beta 3 drivers from ATI.
It did indeed resolve the issue and finally SSE is running. Thanks for the suggestion. I also noticed a slight overall improvement in my VGA's performance too.

I had to uninstall and reinstall SSE after updating my AMD drivers to the latest non-beta version. Now SSE runs very well.
