Hi!
I just wanted to share this.
I have used the Microsoft Sidewinder joystick for the ship simulator until now. Since I am into rc modelflight I got the idea of trying the simulator controller for my rc simulator and it is great for the shipsim, specially if you want to drive large ships and ferries.
You can get a simple rc simulator for about €25 including the USB radio module. See Merit RC Flightsimulator (https://www.rchobbysweden.se/merit-rc-flygsimulator-fms-med-usb-radio-mode-2/) as example.
It has to be a 4 or 6-channel radiomodule with free throttle.

Hi Henriks,
I had been thinking the same. Nevertheless, to be used in a realistic way, you should remove all the springs of the controller (so that the sticks stay in position). The small size of the stick will still have another problem : it'll we hard to keep a neutral position. But that may still be interesting (especially for water jet ships, that are actually driven by joysticks, like the red jet or the catamaran in SSE) ....
