Title: does Shipsim extremes collection use steam??

if you purchase SSE collection of the website http://www.shipsim.com/products/shipsimulatorextremescollection
does it use steam to run or its own programme??

If you buy direct from Vstep there is no connection to Steam, however I understand that if you buy in a shop, or off the internet, from anyone other than Vstep then you do get the version which requires Steam.
