Title: Time frame for new registrations?
Post by: mikenco on August 24, 2012, 14:07:20: I bought my Daughter a copy of SSE via Steam 2 days ago. I subscribed her to the forum and am still awaiting 'approval' to this point. We can't play online together until this is complete.

Is there a issue?

It's not very good that a game must be registered via a forum that no one is attending on a regular basis. Especially as my Daughter has no intentions of using the forum, she just wants to access my multiplayer server.

Post by: mikenco on August 24, 2012, 15:03:21: Interesting. Just discovered that if I host the map, she can access the game in MP as the game is registered with VStep. But cannot access the official severs until the game is registered on the forum. What is that all about? ???

Above I quote from the profile requirements. The functions mentioned include multiplayer. This has been a requirement for a very long time. The main reason, as I understand it, is to prevent people with pirate copies of the game accessing multiplayer games when they have not paid for a legal game. Once the licence key is entered there it is automatic and does not require anyone to verify it. It is a quite simple process.

Post by: mikenco on August 24, 2012, 19:28:48: Thanks Traddles. Yes Danny is correct, it is just forum activation. The game is registered via Steam, just not on the forum yet, so she cannot play on the official servers in MP mode.

Post by: mikenco on August 25, 2012, 03:53:44: From experience, it's not two codes, but two places.. Via Steam is easy, but it's been the forum registration that's been problematic.
