I am buying a new computor, so I can play Ship Simulator Extremes with less lag than I have now. Now I can run the game at a max of 7 FPS, and thats sailing the rowing boat in the Atlantic Ocean with no other ships!!
I have seen this computor, and I was wandering if it would be any better on this:
Quad-core AMD A6-3420M processor
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Memory: 8GB
Hard drive: 750GB
AMD Radeon HD 6520G Discrete-Class

Hi Phoebelou,
That machine will not run Extremes at graphical settings that you'll be happy with. It will run it, but it will be a slide show, or your graphics will need to be set so low that it will look terrible. I'm basing this on my own laptop, which is higher spec'd than what you're looking at (at least in the CPU and GPU departments). Specs as follows:
HP Pavilion dv6 (6135dx) Laptop
Quad-core AMD A8-3500M processor (While advertised to go up to 2.4GHz on 'turbo', I've never seen it exceed 1.5GHz.)
Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit
6GB Ram
640GB HDD
Radeon Dual Graphics (AMD Radeon HD 6620G (integrated into CPU, uses shared system RAM), and AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB dedicated video RAM.)
Even enabling crossfire between the two GPU's made no noticeable difference for Extremes. In any case, I opted for picking up SS08CE for my laptop, (which I see you already have SS08), and SSE for my main pc that actually has the horsepower to run Extremes acceptably.
I hope this information is helpful, and best of luck!

Thanks for that. I really want a laptop that runs SSE nicely, but I don't mind having the graphics on Low. I only have £400 to spend because I need money for other things too. So could I get anything that would do that for less than £400 ??

This is what I got:
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 215 Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 3072MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
Dedicated Memory: 249 MB

Sorry, but that still won't do the job. [nicely]

Im using a laptop with i7, 8GBram, GF555m card. Win7 64. All specs maxed out, 1600x900, AAx2. 20+fps, average over 30.
