Title: Updates & ferry pack

Hi! Im new to the game and this forum, so please excuse me if im asking questions with otherwise obvious answers  ;)
I bought SSE, box version, from a local distributor and I would assume that after installing from the cd and starting the game with the first steam download - that I am playing the 1.3 version of the game?
I tried to download a couple of updates from shipsim.com - but everytime I try to install the updates, I get a text reading "unable to locate a valid SSE installation".
I would like to install all updates and play the full version of the game.
If anyone could help, it would make my day!

Next thing  :)
Im afraid to buy and download the ferry pack upgrade, before im absolutely sure that it will work. Has anyone in here had difficulties? And the problems with getting the updates to work is not helping!

Hi Hevia

do you have the steam version of the game? if so then the updates and add ones from www.shipsim.com will not work.
on steam when you have register the game it will be automatic be updated to the latest version and you most also bay the add ones from steam

this "unable to locate a valid SSE installation". are usualy if you have steam
se on you hd her C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstep\ShipSimExtremes  or C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSimExtremes
if you have SSE on this plase you do not have steam but if you not have this on you HD you have steam

and if you right click on you sse icon on you desktop and thous propeties/egenskaber then you will see hver on you HD the game are installed

Im going to try the updates out on steam instead!
Good thing I diddent buy the ferry pack at shipsim.com then!

I found some sections on steam. News about the updates being released - but I cant find a single link on steam where I can download the updates!
Either im blind or they have hidden them well  :lol:

So I can rely on steam to update the game up to the 1.5 version without doing anything?

Is there anyway I can be sure that its updated fully? It updated for about an hour the first time I entered the game.

To find out what version of SSE you have, start the game, then go options. in the bottom left corner it will tell you what version and build you are using (the latest version is 1.5).
