A question: which game do you prefer.. ShipSim 2008/NH or ShipSim Extremes..?

um... I only have extremes... so... yeahhh...

I have played the SS08 demo and the youtube gameplay videos/pictures do look like the game is fun... but extremes still has my vote. ;D

SS08 all the way.

It has a wonderful engine that makes the game stable and enjoyable. That is missing in SSE.

Really, it would be awesome if Vstep could come back to SS08 and develop it further. Updating the textures and adding a realistic radar would be nice!  ;D

I like SSE better because it's actually more reliable and stable than SS2008. I've not had a single crash since I installed SSE on my PC.  :2thumbs:

I still play SS2008 occasionally but sometimes it would crash when I try to load a mission or jump to another enviroment.  :thumbdown:

I like SSE more,
becuase i dont care if there are some bugs because im not looking for them and my rig isnt the best so im getting a low FPS but i can still play it with reasonable settings

I think Extremes is more detailed and fun to use and the only thing i feel on the downside is the ftp speed on my portable computor is quite low.

I have tried out 2008 several times after i started to use Extreme and i have also upgrade my feelings for 2008 because it was really nice to feel the ships gooing in a fast speed as it should if i had a good computer for Extremes. It felt not at all as boring to use this old version as i thought it should be even if i have played it alot before.

So, im not so eager of bug fixes as many other on this forum seems to be.
A new addon with some new quality ports and ships would make Extreme as a new fresh game again and it would be something i would really enjoy.

im not shore my self
SS08 is real good and quite quick to load
but it lacks game play and enviroments
SSE is slow to load and i have to reboot my system before playing and sometimes after as its so slow
but it has loads of good ships and enviroments
so im nutral

SS Extremes is more realistic, but SS08 has some very nice vessels (TITANIC) and so on

Can we not include 06 in the question?

I vote 06 because it had artificial intelligence (albeit limited to the same as the average sunday driver) and the other traffic made it far more interesting than the absence of such in 08.

As for sse- don't get me started on that! One play on someone elses pc was enough to convince me to boycott it on principle.

There are plenty of AI ships in SS08...

Come off it, SD. In 06 the traffic patterns were FAR more convincing and lively. In 08 they are at best laughable.

I play both games,

SSE: Nice maps, Better looking

SS08: (some ships) are better handling (like the arie visser)

in sse the arie visser handles more like a brig than like a SAR vessel.
