Title: Is there a user manual for Ship Simulator Extremes?

Please forgive me if this is a trivial question,  but I've downloaded SSE via Steam, and would like to find a read-me on the workings of the sim, but can't find one.
I would be most grateful if anyone could help me with this.

If you go into the main folder of Ship Simulator extremes and click on Projects/Ship Simulator Extremes/Docs in that order you will find the manuals for the game and for the editor. In addition I am sure  you will find the following link to information provided by Mark most helpful.

You can also find a wealth of information in the posts in heavy blue type at the top of the Missions Board.

Hi Stuart,
Thanks for your reply, we aim to be of help and it is good to be able to do so. :) A gentle hint for you, (if you would like to have a union flag below your name) change the U.K. which you have put in your profile beside "Location" to United Kingdom beside "Country". It is nice for others to see where you are from.
