Title: Renoir & Cezanne- come in seachance, your time is up
Post by: Stuart2007 on November 26, 2011, 01:29:50
The Renoir (tub) and the Cezanne (tub) are on their way to Alang, if they're not already there.

(And if the silly unions in France don't stop clowning around the Rodin and Berlioz won't be too far behind ;) )

And the NPdC is pretty screwed as well now.

It was sad to hear about the Renoir and Cezanne go, they were fine vessels  :'(

With the NPC, latest rumours now are that she has been "arrested" by DHB for unpaid harbour fees...

I recon that if the Robin and berlioz do get sold, they'll be sold back into service, most probobly in asia.
Shame about the Ren and Cez, but they were turning into old clunkers anyway
Whats the betting clanky is now hoping the "muesum" has the same fate?

The Rodin and Berlioz will end up back in Dover if they are sold - it will be handbags at dawn between DFDS and P&O to see who gets them...

And what would pee and ohno do with them?

It isn't as if seachance were heavily loaded and po will have masses of extra passengers as they were all in oversupply anyway.

I'd see Molly getting sold on for mid distance work, such as brittany- after a re-fit back to as built!

But you're assuming that seachance won't be saved/bought out.

EDIT: Someone just emailed me a link from brit ferry enthusiasts (a bunch of inbreds who like to play "lets pretend I'm an Admiral) that the former head of Brittainy Ferries is to head a co-operative to buy out the wreck of seachance (and by wreck, I mean company not the ships)

As I have managed to escape from the museum, I'm not that bothered about her fate, but it looks as though her owners want us to keep operating her for at least another year.  As for me I'm off to a slightly less old tub (this one is only 25 years old as opposed to 30 and hasn't been converted from one thing to another) at the end of the month.

Wouldn't surprise me to see LD trying to get another foot hold in Dover if Sea France go under (the company, not the ships!)

I believe the idea is to replace he Kent/Canterbury and maybe the Burgundy - remember these ships despite the makeover are still near 20 years old now...

and of Course P&O are having enough problems with the Spirit of France...
