My Swedish is just about enough to understand that she is sold to an indian scrapper. :(
-
Yes, that's right!
In times of Google Translate I thought there is a chance for everybody to understand.
It's one of my favourite ships ... no discos, no fancy restaurants - just a ferry!
-
Going for scrap? After all the work that was done to it to make it seaworthy again?
A shame, she was one of my favourites at Dover. The big Emperor.
-
very sad - she was a real lovely ferry I think :(
And she passed through the Dover straits one last time... in a shroud of fog...
-
Too bad :(
Only nice thing is that i can release my model since no one owns it anymore! ::)
-
Pity...she wasn't very old either :-\
-
It´s always a shame to give ships to shipbreakers...but a new vessel will be born...and there are still some ferrys without any discos or something like that on board.
Cheer up!!!

Will the Pride of Telemark be scrapped due to safety issues?
-
I've been several times on this ship, when she was named "Stena Jutlandica", beetween Frederickshaven and Göteborg ... *sigh*
-

When you consider that Stena- one of the biggest ferry operators- is constantly building those sterile big white half ships (aka ropax) under Stena Roro there is a surplus of ships anyway.
Plus the contraction of the ferry market.
But the biggest killer of mid life ships has to be the mooring charges. The owner likely couldn't justify the cost of mooring.
