Title: New pilot boat for SSE?

Hi all,

I just noticed on Ship Sim Facebook (and in a german topic) that VSTEP made a pilot boat on SSE called the Aquila?  ???
To be honest, isn't a new patch a bit more important...?

I took a picture of the Apollo in SSE.
You can clearly see that the foredeck and the bridge is completely different.  ;)

Also it's seems to be shorter then the Apollo.

Don't be too quick to jump to conclusions, you could well get a surprise. ::) As you have noted "Aquila" is the very latest of the pilots boats operating from the Berghaven base at the Hook. ;D You will notice from the pictures that the actual Berghaven looks rather different too.

One small query...

Why a new pilot boat?

When people ask for new ferries some members say we already have ferries, we want something new. Fair enough to them, its a valid point...

So...

Why do we need another Pilot vessel? especially one so similar to the Apollo? It looks a good model fair enough, but here is lots of new things out there we could try - even something like Fred's superb SWATH Pilot vessel?

Why another twin water jet RIB based vessel?

The only answer to that is "Why not?"  Can you remember how "Jumbo Javelin" got into the 2008 game? Think about it. :-X

"Jumbo Javelin" was originally made by Vstep FOR Jumbo Shipping as a service for that Company. The attachment is from the Jumbo Shipping website. Any bells ringing now?
