Hi All,

I am more used to playing flight sim's but thought that I would give this a try and am really liking what I have seen so far.
Nice to meet you all

PS Im Running SS08 (PC isnt up to spec for SSE) and wondered if buying SS06 would enhance my gameplay at all?

Hi G-Stirl,
Welcome to the Forum.
SS 2008 is still doing well even though it has been superseded by SS Extremes. There are almost 500 missions available for SS 2008 but you would also need to have the add-on called 'New Horizons' to play all the missions.
SS 2006 has lost its sheen a bit and we rarely see members asking for support for it. In my opinion it would be advisable to upgrade your current PC so that you can enjoy the full potential of SS 2008.

Hi Gordie,
Welcome to the forum, and we are glad to see you here. You will get a great deal of pleasure from SS2008, even if you cannot play Extremes with your machine.
It is not possible to move missions or ships from one game (SS2006) to another (SS2008). If you want to look at SS2006 you can download a demo from here:-
http://games.softpedia.com/get/Games-Demo/Ship-Simulator-2006-Demo.shtml
You will see then that it is a very different game from SS2008.
Regards,
Traddles.

Hello Gordie,
If you are considering an upgrade to SSE, you need a PC that confirms to (or surpasses) the minimum requirements . Please see attachment. I would further advise you to purchase the DVD from www.shipsim.com. Your second choice could be the download version. It is also available through Steam, but this version is facing problems as revealed by some members on this Forum.
