Greetings
Quick query...
How do you steer the White Marlin whilst decelerating?
I find that when you start decelerating no matter how far you move the water Jet angle/rudder, you get near no effect at all... :/
I am sure it should be possible though...

I tried a trick, so cut the throttle right try applying throttle to left engine only, more you apply the more you will turn, same thing for the other side. Use this temporary solution till I dig deeper  Oh hang on you just do the same as you would with the red jet, similar steering
-
With jet propulsion, you need to apply thrust to steer. There is no steering when decelerating. I learned the hard way...when pulling into a dock on a jet ski!
With the Marlin, try to slow down ahead of time and then throttle back up to maneuver or turn.

still not managed it? :P
Put her in reverse, and steer the opposite way to where you want to go, the more you in reverse the faster she'll go round :)

Ahhh...
Is that how they do it in real life?

I don't want to answer that :o :o

I agree, she is easier to steer whilst decelerating just by useing the arrow keys  thats my personal opinion, but it does work, i normaly line her up, then use the arrow keys to put her in reverse and use the steering to swing her round before she starts to run astern

The steering i like the red jet 4

Hi captains,
have you also the feeling that the decelerating without throttle takes very long (just by stopping the engines)? Is this realistic?
I compare it with the Pride of Rotterdam where I have the feeling that the POR decelerates too fast, I can accelerate up to 22 knots and stop engine about 2 kilometers prior of the harbour entrance and at the entrance she is alreade down at 13-14 knots.
When I accelerate the Marlin to 45 knots and stop engine 2 kilometers before the harbour entrance she is still at about 30-35 knots..which I think is still a bit too fast for a catamaran in this speed. Normally catamarans (I just know the smaller cats) decelerate much faster.
What is your feeling about this? Is this realistic?
cheers
Ingo

InCats like the White Marlin very rarely go anywhere close to 45 knots, 38 knots is generally their service speed
Service Speed approx 40 knots
Lightship Speed approx 48 knot

But yeah, she does seem to have a very poor deceleration, whether this is realistic or not though, I cannot say...

If you use the number keys (On right hand side of keyboard) you will find it very simple to handle "White Marlin".
7 & 1 for port engine 9 & 3 for starboard engine. 7 & 9 give ahead movement 1 & 3 give astern movement. So using 7 & 3 she will spin on her tail to starboard with little movement ahead, 9 & 1 she spins to port. Slow her down first with 1 & 3, she is quite fast at responding. It matters little if you are accelerating or decelerating.

i think the reason why her have a slow deaccelerating is because she has a tiny hull, unlike POR which have a wider hull

Ahh OK Thanks
I know I use the number keys for maneuvering, never thought about it for turning whilst decelerating
Only trouble I find is its near impossible to get both throttles back to the same engine RPM
-
just use arrow keys to speed or slow down then let it go to 0 then use shift key and arrow keys to get both engines the same RPMS

You don't? Why not?
I can't tell what's real or what's not :o so many bugs

So that means you also have some bugs in your real life experience then? ;D ;D
