im new to ship sims. what game do i need to start with?

Welcome to forum

Start with what you want, the first version is ShipSim 2006, the second is ShipSim 2008 and the last one is ShipSim Extremes :)

Before you go ahead and buy any of the Ship Sims, please check if your computer specs are in conformity with the System Requirements for each of the versions.

Yes, in addition to vin_sun's advice, try out one of the free demo's, see how that works.. ;)
