Title: can't change profile photo into .gif one

As you can see from my profile photo, it was a failed attempt to turn it into a .gif one :doh:, what am I doing wrong?  ???

Was it an animated one or a 'regular' one?

The former probably doesn't work, the latter should, gif is an accepted format here.

I think animated GIF's are too large for an avatar..
Fortunately so, I can imagine it could be quite annoying.. ;)

Yeh, i had trouble with my avatar at first. It was because it was too big

I'm not sure but i think he may have thought that the picture was an animated one because it is a GIF

That is probably too big indeed to work.

As far as I understand, any picture over the maximum size, which is 65x65, is automatically resized and during that process it's turned into another format, I think .png on here.

Try one that is under 65x65, I'd say.
