Title: Tug Information help
Post by: Third Mate on May 07, 2011, 10:06:16
Hey guys, I need your help with something, so I need to find out about a very old steam tug dating back to 1910, it's called SS Brookelyn. Im looking into making a fairly accruate model of it( my version ) in Google Sketchup 8. I just need to get a good idea of the weigh and the rest of the general info, who knows If I get the hang of modeling this one, next year I'll have it ready for CCC.

Hi ThirdMate, I found this site on the tug.. Hope it helps.. :)

http://www.steelnavy.com/Tug%20Brooklyn.htm

that's better than nothing :P, but It does not say the tonnage, speed or any of those things yet  ::) anyway's in about 2 day's im gonna start modeling a fairly accruate model with a few saftey features and hopeing this will be in SSE when the times comes, i know at the momment VSTEP has their hands full with the CCC ships and a lot of fixes, so I will just keep it here safe when it's done and by that time I will be able to find out the rest of the info about it

Why bother with the SS Brooklyn anyway ?  We already have a nice old tug with the Furie..  :)

This one is even older and it's American, it will go nice with NY, SF and other American type environments. Aldough, if I can't find the true data eg. tonnage, engine type, max speed size, etc. I will look around for very similar tugs and I will take estimations from thoes. Plus I am not even sure if VSTEP will add Furie or Elbe in SSE, there's absolutely no word on those yet. Got, a question, do steam harbor tugs have anchors???
