Hi Ferryman 46,
First: You should never, never ask this Moderator to tell you where to put it.
Seriously, the object of a mission is to complete it without sinking your ship. If your ship sinks before you have completed the mission, you have failed.
If you have more than one player ship, then you are responsible for the safety of all of them. If any one of them sinks before you complete the mission, you fail.
However, it is possible to successfully complete a mission in a second ship while the first ship is sinking, if you complete it before the first ship reaches Davey Jones’ Locker—which, in most cases means touching bottom.
In SS2008, after completing the mission you can continue and watch the first ship finish sinking.
For an example of this: Play > Mission > Disaster near Bergen.
Latitude is a sinking player ship. You must rescue the crew and complete the mission before she goes completely under. If you do, then you can go back and watch, or ride her down like Smitty on the Titanic.
Regards,
Marty
