I had a dream a Friday or two ago, where I was on the Ship Simulator website, and embedded in the homepage was a trailer of a few seconds (I think the display said 12, but in reality it was likely faster than that): a teaser for Titanic Ship Simulator Extremes: a few seconds of footage of Titanic sailing in front of the camera, in the style of the game's cinematic view.
It made me disappointed when I remembered that it was only a dream ;D
Though it DOES make me wonder how she's doing game-wise....

Pretty good .... in the domain she is destined to live in forever -Ship Simulator 2008

Titan....zzz....ic :sleepy:
Imagine if Martin Luther King had said "I have a dream.... that one day.... titan...zzzz....ic would be a ship in a game"
-
It would be nice for the Titanic in Extremes :(
-
That ship and 'nice' should NEVER be allowed in the same sentence.
UNLESS it's "Isn't it NICE to not hear about Tita...... :sleepy: :sleepy:
-
The TITANIC actually was a BEAUTY!
I wonder why people keep complaining about it. If you don't like it, just don't play it!!
But I don't think that it's important to put her into the game - in SS08 I played it quite rarely, and when I did, I just did it to have a look at it.
-
It was a badly designed, badly built coffin that had a size FAR in excess of what was safe to build at the time given the early 20th Century 'technology'.

I disagree slightly...
Pushing the boundaries of known technology is a good way to advance technology
Cavemen had to push the boundaries of what they did with stones, else we would still be using simple stones now...
it was just bad misfortune that this advancement of technology went so badly wrong.. :/
-
I'm going to push the boundaries of the credible and make a paper aircraft to fly to the Atlantic.
-
TFM, it's one thing to push boundaries but another thing to jump 9 miles over them!

It was pushing them 9 miles that got us on the moon ;D

Stuart, you're acting as the single largest heckler in this topic ;D And virtually the only one thus far!

Anyone who wants that ship in this game, NEEDS shooting.

True, and why hate the Titanic so much? Because of the 1500 lives?
Well, she actually got sunk because the crew didn't act the right way when they saw the iceberg.

If you don't like it, you know what button to press.
Look chaps, you've opened up countless topics to post the same thing over and over and over again. titani :sleepy: is NOT in sse. Whether it ever will be or not is unlikely to be influenced by you writing that you had a dream (which we all know means you didn't but needed an excuse to start the topic).
By all means keep discussing that ship if you want, but do you need so many topics about it?

You wrong me. Hating something and being bored to death by it are two totally different things.
-
RMS Gigantic found your comments hatefull, and so do I actually. :P
-
Allthough posts about the Titanic, and wether or not she will be in Extremes, are beginning to get a bit tedious, I find the level of conversation here below par. There is no need to drag Martin Luther King in the discussion, nor to repeatedly shoot anyone. Stuart, I can understand that you may be annoyed by all the Titanic topics, but (as you say) you know what button to press. Simply stay out of it

Well spoken, saltydog!
(we need an applause smiley)

Calm down dears. It's only a game. It doesn't matter how long you harp on and on about that dull as ship ship it won't be put in the game!
Saltydog, Martin Luther King also had a dream... which was the title of the topic. Lets face it, he didn't have a dream he was just looking for an excuse to make a point (MLK that's who- no, of course I don't mean rmsgigantic!)
And as for you, Jack- don't start as YOU'RE the one who started talking of shooting people. :P

I can tell that you are being sarcastic, and my response is this: I honestly did have a dream which played out precisely as told in the first post. In fact, the original point of the topic, though admittedly not stated, was to see how people may react to the fact that I literally dream about such things.

Jolly good for you. Now relax. Take a deep breath.

Oh god, Jack. Don't laugh- you're showing disrespect and remember its the 99th anniversary of the wreck...

Why not start early there, Stu? Your contempt for the subject seems rather disruptive, in my opinion.

Hoy,
I have to follow Stuart with his vision on Titanic for the game.It was nicely build by Vstep, however it did not realy fit in different harbours, exept the ocean-part.Al of the other vessels were modern,as also the enviroments.
To fit it in some game, create more ships from the same era,as Titanic, and also 2 or 3 ports as they were in the old times.Example:Titanic,Carpathia and some old tugs, create Southampton,Cherbour,New-York all as it was. This make sense to me than.
Create it also as an seporated download,or boxed version. So people can choose for this. And it needs another server to,offcourse.
Remember that Titanic was a heavy ship for some computers to.
Regards
Marc

Well thank god your opinion doesn't affect me in the slightest then.

I agree that that is probably how the ship is best left in terms of Extremes.
-
What's the point though? A new and totally incompatible version of shipsim will be announced soon most likely. Or maybe it won't!

??? What have I missed?

??? What have I missed?
I was just being sarcastic. Suggesting that with their track record they'll probably realise sse has too many bugs and doesn't do what they thought and then rush headfirst into yet another version, which will be rushed out without enough planning and then..... :sleepy:
Don't worry, I wasn't making any announcement on behalf of vstep
-
Sometime announcements are made, but I just miss them ... so I didn't get the sarcasm at once.
-
Ah that's OK, Krytsch. Any sarcasm wasn't directed at you!
