Title: Steam: downloads suspened
Post by: Third Mate on April 07, 2011, 02:07:02
This is very unusual, I came across a mid weekly madness deal, they had Alien VS. Predator 2010 down from 39 USD to only 9.99 USD plus the DLC (download content) was only 2 USD. The game is 17 gigabytes, so I starter last night because it said it would take 13 hours + to finish it off. This morning I woke up with the download so far completing 5 Gb out of 17 gb saying suspend :o . So I had to restart but here's the strange thing the progress bar is well quarter way through, but the total amount downloaded is only about 300 MB, should I be expecting a corrupted download? If I will I will be quite angry because so far it says it will take 9 hours + which will mean I will still go another day without enjoying it and killing more band-with :-X :-\....

If you have a screensaver, turn it off.  Sometimes that will interrupt a download..
Also a download manager could be useful.. :)

Alright, thanks for the tip, I saw the trailer and it;s impressive, this is crazy though never took me over a day to download something from Steam, Ship Sim Extremes had full co-operation, this will be fun I can tell  :-X
